The DU 15 million posts* prize!

After more than four years online, the Democratic Underground message board is getting close to 15 million posts! And we're giving away a prize to commemorate this momentus occasion!

The individual who posts the 15 millionth message* will win their choice of one free item from the DU Store!

We will publicly announce the winner of the prize once that person has been determined, probably sometime on the next business day.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT SPAM THE MESSAGE BOARD IN AN EFFORT TO WIN THE PRIZE. Our software has a built-in spam guard which automatically bans people who post too many messages in a particular time period. If you accidentally get caught in the spam guard, we can turn your account back on later, but until then you're stuck.

*Disclaimer: If for any reason the person who posts the 15 millionth post is declared ineligible for the prize, the administrators will offer the prize to the person who posts the next eligible message. DU Administrators have the final authority to decide if a member or post is eligible. Posts that are ineligible for the prize include, but are not limited to, the following: Posts by DU Administrators or their families; posts by currently serving DU Moderators; posts that violate DU rules; deleted posts; or posts by individuals who are subsequently banned.

What about if the winner posts in one of the free-association threads. Those could certainly be intrpreted as posting for postings' sake. But they are absolutely among my favorite Lounge games.

Just being a fly in the ointment. I think this is a great contest. I'm hoping to win a "check it out before the feds shut us down" t-shirt! :)
