3. Thats ok, I dont know that song
Waiting in Vain, I Dont know what it does but it makes me think about her, probably "From the very first time I blessed my eyes on you", due to my Aspergers I have a hard time with eye contact but I have a hard time taking my eyes off of ones like her.

12. Also, the remix version of "Bump N Grind" by R Kelly always reminds me

of my ex-fiance'

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00000055M001002/0/002-4537549-9042443

The one that goes "Don't front you know, about the rodeo show."

Also, "You Send Me Swangin'" by Mint Condition reminds me of her.

13. i finally listened closely to the lyrics of I'm Glad There Is You
...and it killed me. It was just perfect. progdad and I had a friend sing this at our wedding (we're just lucky that our friend was a world-famous jazz singer!!!)

I'm Glad There Is You

Said I, many times, love is illusion,
A feeling result of confusion.
With knowing smile, and blase sigh,
A cynical so-and-so was I.

I felt so sure, so positive,
So utterly, unchangingly certain.
But I never was aware of love and you,

And suddenly I realized
There was love and you,
And I, and i.

In this world,
Of ordinary people,
Extraordinary people,
I'm glad there is you.

In this world of overrated treasures,
And underrated pleasures,
I'm glad there is you.

I live to love,
I love to live with you,
Right here beside me.
This road so new,
I'll muddle through,
With you to guide me.

In this world,
Where many, many play at love,
And hardly any stay at love,
I'm glad there is you,
More than ever, I'm glad,
So glad, there's you.

14. that sounds like a pretty song
My parents had In My Life by the Beatles play, the seniors last year chose it as their class song, made me think wow I am gonna be in that situation next year, and now here I am, with less than two months to go in a chapter of my life that I have so often wondered what I could do over again like "Should I talk more in class", "Should I get that girl's number", "Should I study for that test", etc, I am not a great student really sigh, sorry for the rant.

15. There's a song that Phil Hartman sang on SNL a decade ago..
it's entitled "Love is a Dream."

SNL played a short film of Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks singing it to each other. He was a prince and she was a princess, and they were waltzing to it. It's a short and sweet song.

Love is a dream
yet it's so real
Hard to explain
just how you feel
Deep in my heart
love seems to dwell
Like poets say -
that's pefectly swell.

The clip doesn't seem to be comically-intended. I still get teary-eyed when I see it.. (1) because I dearly dearly have a comic love of Phil Hartman, and (2) because I've sang it to my partner now for nine years.

If I recall correctly, it's on the "Best of Phil Hartman" SNL DVD..

16. "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by the Smiths
Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da ...
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out

I've read that speculation. Seems a little farfetched to me, but whatever. Love the song, BTW.

17. I tend to have tumultuous relationships
This bed is on fire
With passionate love
The neighbors complain about the noises above
But she only comes when she's on top

My therapist said not to see you no more
She said you're like a disease without any cure
She said I'm so obsessed that I'm becoming a bore, oh no
Ah, you think you're so pretty

Caught your hand inside the till
Slammed your fingers in the door
Fought with kitchen knives and skewers
Dressed me up in women's clothes
Messed around with gender roles
Dye my eyes and call me pretty

Moved out of the house, so you moved next door
I locked you out, you cut a hole in the wall
I found you sleeping next to me, I thought I was alone
You're driving me crazy, when are you coming home

18. "Love is a Stranger" by the Eurythmics
By no means a sappy-sweet love song, but it seems to capture the experience dead-on for me. "Love" in general, that is, rather than a relationship with a specific person.

Edited on Sun May-01-05 02:34 PM by tjdee
you"....so many many. "Hallelujah"...

Accidentally in love, IMO, is one of the few songs to capture the giddiness and euphoric nature of falling in love. And his phrasing when he's singing it...just extraordinary, I think.

"So I said I'm a snowball running,
runnin' down into this spring that's coming
All this love
Meltin' under blue skies
Belting out
sunlight shimmering love

And baby I surrender to the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love,
You know I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love..."

And there's jumping higher, feeling brighter...so happy.

Sigh. Too bad the video sucked so bad and it was in Shrek, of all things.
