What does your mouse pad look like?
Mine is a cute little novelty I got as a stocking-stuffer last Christmas. It looks like a little Turkish carpet, complete with fringe, that nearly matches the full size one on the floor of my computer room. I love it.

Anyone have an interesting or unusual mouse pad?

5. Beautiful. One of my favorite paintings.
My wife and I own a nice oil and canvas reproduction of "Starry Night" that hangs in the front hall of our house. Takes my breath away.

13. The original is stunning and surprisingly small
I was in MOMA and some hillbilly had her nose an inch from it and I was thinking "Wow she really likes 'Starry Night'" Imagine my horror (I am not easily horrified) as she touched it with her fucking finger then said "Ewww. I don't like it." Argh! I had been holding back almost overwhelming urges to touch everything there, because I was thinking it was so cool.

16. Our repro must be actual size then, 'cause it's pretty small.

Don't stupid Philistines like that woman make you want to just slap them upside the head, if only to hear the *thud!* of hollowness?

on edit: I'm perfectly okay with her not liking it; Vive La Difference and all that; but don't fucking TOUCH it, okay!?!?!?!

17. god. I wanted to see the guards rush her skinny ass and throw her to the
cold hard ground then ship her off to a gulag. Not because she hated and not because she touched it-but because she touched it BECAUSE she hated it.

It is approx 29" x 36"

Hm. okay. Mine is smaller than that, even.
BTW, how could she get close enough to touch it? I've never been to the MOMA. Do they have no security? Can you treat the exhibits any way you want to?

27. Back in the day, you could get close
If guards HAD seen her touch, they'dve said something.

I have no idea WTF is up w/ them-that was 20 years ago. I actually skipped a week of classes at Cornish to go and after seeing all sorts of stuff poorly reproduced the projected onto a screen in a dark room, I was blown away at how things REALLY looked. We had seen 'Starry Night' and Picasso's 'Demoiselles d'Avignon' (8'x 7'8") in class and in the books-they look the same size. In real life-it was amazing. The Picasso is huge and the pink was never repro'd anywhere close to the real.
And the 3 great Water Lily panels (6' x i4' EACH!) Monet had originally painted for France, which were split up when the govt declined, were reunited for the first time.

I recommend it.

Mazes are the tricky ones.
But yes I do trace it for relaxation.

coffee has been spilled on it so many times that you can no longer tell where the beach ends and the water begins. :7

Edited to add: We also have an American flag one that we keep in the bedroom- although it's clean we don't want it out where it can be seen lest we get mistaken for Republicans.

23. Sad how the American flag has been hijacked by the repukes,
isn't it?

In the months after September 11th, I wore a flag pin in my lapel at work. Just like a lot of people; I was going to allow my love of country to transcend the Bushbots' scary jackboot nationalism. Then when B*sh and Co started conflating 9/11 and Saddam Hussein, shouting war, war war!, I took it off, and left it off. Like you, I don't want to be branded as one of them. There are plenty enough as it is.

And it only has an FM radio, no AM so I can't even listen to AAR. You'd think they could have sacrificed SOMETHING to put in a fricken AM radio, jeez.
