What about that episode of the Jeffersons when the doorbell rings ...
And Florence, the housekeeper (or maid as we called them back then,) refused to answer the door, making George answer it himself.

That part was so funny that you would think the writers would have used it more than just that one episode.

5. That was a recurrent theme
...in many, many episodes. The bell would ring and she'd say "Doorbell" and go in the opposite direction, leaving it up to George or Louise to answer.
