Post a picture of our next president
Post a picture of our next president. I'll post two.

Who I want.

Who I think is most likely to win.

Don't hate me. Just giving my honest prediction.

of course that's not saying much. Seriously though, he's not a stupid or incompetent man like his brother, but he is a raving right-winger. I don't believe he'll run in 2008. I do think he'll run in 2112 if a Dem wins in 08.

25. confession
When McBride was running for governor, I had to quit watching the debates. By the third one, when McBride still couldn't answer basic questions about how he would fund his education initiative, I thought: I have to turn off this television or I'll end up voting for Jeb. He did much better in the debates. Of course I voted for McBride, but he was a very weak candidate.

30. Democrats don't seem to have the problem
of nominating weak debaters on the national level. Say what you will about Clinton, Gore, and Kerry; they're all first-class debaters, albeit for different reasons.

Let's hope the party does not go back to the days of nominating poor debaters like Michael Dukakis.

Kerry wiped the floor with Bush, and he still lost. :banghead:

I think people prefer presidents who aren't that smart. There is a strong anti-intellectual bias in the country.

36. I agree....
I know alot of people thought Kerry won that second debate. I do to. But with Joe Sixpack, I don't think he did. I watched it with a group of friends, and I told them as Bush was going into his ranting and raving and Redneck routine, that THAT'S what Joe Sixpack would remember. That is, "Bush don't take no shit". As you said, this country is not populated with a mass of intellectuals. As a whole, its anti-intellectual. And that Redneck routine, struck a chord.

39. Bush losing his cool to us is Bush "gettin' tuff" to them.
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 02:50 AM by elperromagico
Of course, if Kerry had walked around screaming "YOU TELL TONY BLAIR WE'RE GOIN' ALONE!" it would have been a sign of mental illness to them. To most of us, too.

The love for Bush among these people is comparable to the love for Reagan 20 years ago. The difference is that Reagan managed to convince millions of Democrats to go along with him. Bush doesn't really have the ability to pull that off.

And anybody whose read my posts on this board knows I'm not Kerry's biggest fan, but Junior looked like a complete fucking moron up there, in all three debates. Just like he did against Gore 4 years previously.

This whore media have their collective noses so far up the Chimp's ass they will tell any lies to promote him. And a lot of the "Joe Sixpacks" believe Junior "won" the debates because FAUX and CNN told them so.

38. I think 2004 was one instance where debates had little impact.
Most voters had already decided. The debates simply confirmed their beliefs. The few who honestly hadn't decided leaned to Kerry, but apparently that wasn't enough.

I still remember back in 2000 sitting around watching to the debates with some of my friends who although are nice really are not that bright. When Gore spoke and not on purpose he spoke above them Bushie spoke incomplete sentences and didn't make any since but my friends she liked them.

Its sad but it is true our country likes the morons, why else is Homer Simpson so popular and that stupid Punked show. I am all for a laugh when someone does something stupid but I want my president, my Representatives to be intelligent.

I was afraid to say that myself :), however I wouldnt vote for him. Hagel unlike many of the current crop and especially the GOP leadership is a man who actually served his country, so he's not a fake patriot, and I personally was more impressed by him than Mary Landrieu who I also met. Hagel is a conservative not a moderate but he's very much the kind of republican we would have dealt with before the Reagan Revolution of the 80's. I hope he votes against Bolton, I really do.
