I spent $1,000 at the gas station today.

No, not on gas. I got hit as I pulled away from the pump.

Sure, it was storming and dark, AND it was a black Honda with no lights on going too quickly on the wrong side of the "lane" in the lot.

Nobody would issue a statement or let me take their name as a witness. There were two folks in the other car, and I was alone. The police refused to come out, and I didn't have my camera (stupid!).

On the up side, nobody was hurt, both cars are mobile and the damage cosmetic. If I'm going to be a statistic, this is the one to be, I guess.

My deductible is $1000 which I'm sure I'll have to pay. I'm going after the video that I know they run at the station. If I can get it, I'm going after their insurance.

So, the next time you feel screwed at the pump, you can say out loud, "At least I'm not flvegan screwed."
