1. Of course, there's the $400 I'd have to spend to upgrade my PC
But I AM getting a brand new state of the art Dell at work next month. That's all I need, a reason to stick around this place longer than I already do.

8. My homebuilt will suffice:
Asus mobo w/Nforce2 chipset.
AMD Athlon 2100@2750. (overclocking the safe way...)
Nvidia 5900fx video.
SB Audigy
SuSE Linux 9.3
1GB RAM (2x512MB PC2700 modules)

It runs Unreal Tournament 2k4 at 1600x1200 what Windows, on the same hardware, can just about do at 1024x768. (I noticed a worthy increase with Linux, that's for sure!)

2. How many times can something jump out of the dark at you
and kill you before enough is enough?

Though I guess the graphics are pretty nice when the lights are on.

9. If it has Linux binaries and when the price gets reasonable, I will.
I support companies that promote Linux. Much better for gaming than Winbloat, all things considered.

5. the first 2/3 of the game was so..so. but that last third was pretty
good. I picked up a copy of halo 1 for 17 bucks, and that has been absolutely beautiful. I see what all the fuss was about, great game. and to top everything off I just picked up a copy of far cry for 17 bucks last night.

I promised myself that I would get mcse before the end of summer, but these stupid games are getting all of my time. damn, is there a rehab place for gamers.
