Focus on the Family called me with an automated push poll on the judicial nominees and the mean old Democrats who are blocking them :eyes: I hope some live person listens to these things and could feel my vehemence over the phone when I said no, I don't want the Dems to stop.

Now, they may have truly done a random sampling, but in my sneaky and imperfect little heart of hearts I like to think they called our house because of hubby's background of going to a Christian college. Makes me feel a bit smug.

*smack on the wrist* Bad GPV!

Here it is:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=183x1322

It was a computerized poll.

One of the first questions was close to:
"Are you aware that Senate Democrats are blocking President Bush's judicial nominees even though they have the votes to be appointed?"

(I said "yes")

The next question was something like "Do you support this?" (except more aggressive)

(I said "yes")

Then it asked me if I was "pro-life with respect to abortion".

(I said "yes", because I am pro-choice and pro-life and I'm sick of the term "pro-life" being used by folks who are usually pro-death.)

It asked me if I had ever contributed to a non-profit, causes, etc.

(I said "yes")

"Do you consider yourself a Republican?" (I think this was the wording)

("no")

"Do you consider yourself a Democrat?"

("yes")

"Thank you, blah blah blah Focus on the Family blah blah blah Goodbye."

That's the basic run down.

non-republicans answer any more questions, so once they find out you're a dem or "other", they drop ya from the poll.

That way, when they go the president, they can say "97% of the people we we asked this question think that you are a doing a good job and that you should make being gay equivalent to treason with a punishment of execution", and they can say that and still be technically "true" and "not lying" because they eliminatede everyone who would disagree with that in the "pre-polling wedding out".

it clean and sane and can make a point-by-point case against his causes, You can post them on our live-journal blog. (As much fun as it is to rant and raiol against nutty people like that, it never really seems to help the cause of reaching the die-hards and fence-sitters, ya know? *lol*)
