Ever have one of those moments when you realize something equivalent to an epiphany? Sort of like something that, when projected forward in time, kind of explains everything? Sad as it may be, I think that's the case right now, even though I personally am not happy with it, nor is anyone else I know except for some dumbshit fundies who are gleefully looking forward to the end of the world.

We must suffer now--we must get to the bottom before we can rise again. We must put up with the fundie shit, the radical right, the unchristian Xtians, and all the greed and bullshit before enough people in this country see the threat that is before their very eyes. Each and every week, month after month, and yes, year after year, the pukes are losing credibility a smidge at a time. While we could have--would have--won the 2004 election if it had been an honest one, perhaps this is just another nail in the already enormous coffin that the right is building for itself. All their top guys are being exposed for the hypocrites, liars and thieves that they are, others are disavowing knowledge of even more of their own, and slowly but surely, the world is turning on the pro-corporation, anti-population tactics and schemes of the powermongers. It's been like this at times in the past, and it turned, and when it turned, it was a definitive turn. More and more of those in the middle will see the folly of supporting a whacko right wing, and while they might have some problems with the left, they will know that sanity is, at the very least, present on the left.

The complete hypocritical right will eventually lose ground as the ordinary citizen's grasp of the obvious makes him realize that he has been played for a dupe, and that he has gotten nothing out of the past years under this god forbidden regime, and will never again support the lying bastards. This, we can only hope.

"no fun" thread stuck to the top of the Lounge on people's perceptions of DU and the Lounge, but my threads kept getting locked.

I think it's a sad reminder of just how awful things are (both in the world and personally) these days. I see it every time I open the Lounge.

I don't dispute its point or its content or its essential truth. I just question the "PR" effect of that phrase being so ubiquitously displayed.
