Bag Of Rotting Animal Parts Found In School Lunchroom
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 08:52 AM by matcom
<snip>

Voorhees High School will remain closed today while school and law enforcement officials try to determine how a bag full of rotting animal parts wound up hidden behind a ceiling tile in the school lunchroom.

"An unusual odor led to the discovery of decomposing animal parts that had been surreptitiously placed in the drop ceiling," Lebanon Township police patrolman Larry Campbell said Monday.

The bag was discovered about 7:30 a.m. Monday, Campbell said. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office is investigating but no arrests have been made. Police believe the parts were hidden there over the weekend, Campbell said.

Authorities plan today to inspect the cafeteria ventilation system.

"For it to get to its state this morning, it had to be there a day or two," he said.

He would not say what kind of animal the parts were from, or how much was hidden.

School officials sent a note home with students, who were dismissed at 11:55 a.m. Monday. The cafeteria was closed and will not serve food until the Hunterdon County Board of Health declares the area sanitary and R.K. Environmental Specialists deems the air quality satisfactory, according to the note.

School administrators could not be reached for comment.

17. At my high school
someone put coyote poo on the main heat register. Smell was so bad we had to go home for the day.

(That wasn't as cool as when someone set Junior Hall on fire, but that was DANGEROUS and not to be encouraged!)

(Oh, and they filled Sophomore hall w/balloons, but that was a boring prank :boring:)
