1. Yes and yes.
Bono spends a lot of time and money speaking out against social injustice in the world. He has also really focused on South Africa of late.

With Bono as Jesus.

8. I would say U2 best resembles "rock n' roll"...but that's too limiting
They try so many different sounds and they experiment all the time...
What kind of music do you usually listen to? I can recommend some of their albums based off of your music prefs. if you like!

10. They are even bigger than Oasis!
or that other band named after some sort of insect, back in the 1960s.

9. I have to give you a pass and a bless your heart because
you referred to them as a "singing group."

You are either authentic in your world view or you are a brilliant satirist.

13. I think they are more of a rock and roll band.
When I hear "singing group," I think Osmond Brothers on Andy Williams. ;-)

15. The reason they don't let lay Catholics
vote in the conclave is because Bono would be elected Pope.

17. yes
Some friends of mine in a band were personally picked to open for them at one of their shows back in the mid-90's. They were scared witless. The stage was 50 times the size of what they were accustomed to playing on and they couldn't figure out why there was a phone on stage... "What the hell are we supposed to do if it RINGS???"

Ahhh... good times.

Very nice and very REAL people... very down to earth. Rather astonishing especially considering that my friends played with other somewhat lesser known bands who were complete stuck-up assholes with very large but fragile egos.
