I admit it all. I am old. I am stupid. I am out of touch.

I admit it all. I am old. I am stupid. I am out of touch.
And in many ways, so is my wife, Sparkly, though she won't admit it.

Last night we rented "Spanglish". Adam Sandler, Tea Leone, Cloris Leachman, Paz Vega, Shelby Bruce, and others ......

So we're watching it. We both remarked on how beautiful the woman playing Flor is. She's gorgeous. Drop dead gorgeous.

Our comments went something like ..... "Wow. She's gorgeous."

"She walks so elegantly. Regally."

"She's beautiful."

Then the capper. ... Me: "Man, I had no idea Tea Leone was soooo pretty."

Sparkly: "Neither did I."

If you've seen the movie, you know why I am old, stupid, and out of touch.

If you've not seen it yet ...... Tea Leone is the blonde ... Adam Sandler's neurotic wife. Paz Vega, who we thought was the little kid, in fact was the gorgeous woman we were admiring.

Just shoot me if I do this again, okay?

From the X-Files....that's the only way I'd know her.

But you're right--Paz Vega *is* beautiful. on edit, I think she was in a film called Sex and Lucia, if you want to look at her some more, LOL.

Was the movie any good?

2. Actually, Spanglish was really good.
It is not really a comedy (as the casting of Sandler might imply). It is the story of a proud, hard working Mexican immigrant woman and her relationship with her daughter. They come to the US under sorta .... uh .... questionable circumstances. The kid winds up applying to Harvard for a scholarship. Funny in parts. Cloris Leachman's a real howl. Very heartwarming.

Sparkly and I would give it two

3. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Washington Post film critic Desson Thomson has misidentified actresses in REVIEWS. However, he does accept corrections from Alert Readers.
