I'm not Catholic, but my wife is
On the home front, I really don't think she gives a damn.

That's basically the attitude in a lot of the world.

A lot of Catholics love JPII for his progressive causes and ignored some of his less than generous leanings. (Brazil, maybe?)

I expect more give and take from the flock.

The only thing I worry about is potential interference by the church in dealing with Catholic politicians.

That's is one thing to be on the look out for.
