I'm quite dissapointed; I was hoping for something I could frame and hang in a place of honor.

Don't bother accusing me of Catholic bashing. I was raised a Roman Catholic. After the hell I went through, I can say any damned thing I please. And while I still have that freedom, I'm going to excercise it.

1. Raised a Catholic also--they can't excommuiicate me--I did it to

myself.

After today, it's official--I will enter a Catholic Church for mass (sight-seeing in Europe is another story) one more time--when my father dies. Hope I've got a few more years for that.

2. You really have to work at it

There aren't even any "automatic" excommunications anymore. You have to really piss off the church and THEN they have to decide you are worth the trouble to bother with.

Apostate catholics are much more likely to be ignored than excommunicated. The Church, after all, has been around a long time.

They've seen it all, and done most of it twice.
