What if the government shut the internet down??
Let face it, without the internet, the left doesn't really have a means of getting out its message to the masses. We all know who controls the media aka radio, tv and print. What if AWOlbush and the neocons, decided for national security, that the internet was a terrorist tool and shut it down.. The most effective means of communication on the left would be gone..

Makes you wonder doesn't it!!

2. Can you say "riot?"
That might actually be the wake up call the public needs. There would be such massive riots, the idiots on Capitol Hill would pee their Depends.

5. Why Do You Think...
...I do as much to raise awareness as I can, WHILE I can? You have a valid question. Many websites are already disappearing "as we speak". They may not "shut the internet down", but they can shut down any website they choose.

6. Too much big buisiness depends on the net to do that.
The REAL bosses, the corporate elite, would show Bush and company the door.

9. The Senate Committee on Shutting the Internet Down in 30 Seconds
was based around DNS. Of course, that wasn't the title, but the hackers' gist was that crashing the main DNS servers that filter down all IP addresses was the quick way to stop traffic. Then again, it doesn't take much to find the IP addresses of crucial sites, which is my favorites folder has a set of links by IP address only, so when the rest of the neighborhood is down, I'm still happily surfing.

Secondly, I don't think Sprint, MCI, ATT, etc would be too happy about this, they'd be losing millions of dollars a second.

11. Don't forget the countless cable companies across the country
like mine who would lose millions. Then add in all of the major companies that keep themselves in the black by internet sales such as Amazon, Wal Mart, Sears, Target, etc.
