The new pope says "no" to rock music
:wtf:

That is just wrong: "God gave rock and roll to you, put it in the soul of everyone."

What does U2 think about that? Are there any Catholic rockers? What about Eddie Money?

1. Man..this is sure a sea change that I don't like
The old Pope embraced the youth and culture- I mean, he allowed BREAK DANCERS to perform for him and PRAISED them.
Man alive, I'm bummed about this :(

2. Boy this pope sure is old
dDoesn't he know that rock has been all but replaced with electronica, rap, and hip-hop? I would not mind seeing the last two disappear though.

Rock and roll will NEVER die!

15. You cannot stop the rock
but they gave up their Christian label along time ago, didn't they? And they never were Catholics.

14. I understand if he says 'no' to AC/DC
after all, if God's (or good's) on the left they are stickin' to the right.
but they are still my favorite when I want to hear the sound of fake cannons. I have been thunderstruck!

12. sorry, I am saying "no" to links
It's a new era. I got this from the announcer on the local news, so it was a summary rather than a quote.

19. God gave us the world. Popey Pants here should not support those who
DESTROY THE WORLD in the name of "progress", aka economical gain.

Environment, the land, the life... God gave us all of it... To destroy and pillage?! To harm?! To create ozone holes, to melt polar ice caps, to create global warming by incessant misuse of irreplaceable resources? To set one man against another over a few lousy trinkets ultimately worth nothing?!

THOSE are REAL abominations. Not two grown men groping each other's good bits. Since when did two men bouncing in bed cause any problems? NEVER. Since when have mis-translated Bible quotes been the cause of problems? OFTEN. Hell, some willfully ignore the quotes they don't want and favor certain others. The Bible mentions greed and selfishness far more, FAR MORE, than homosexuality (and only MALE homosexuality, BTW) so why are the greedy allowed to continue ruining everything? They are the abominations. Not us.
