Litter Rant
I live next to power lines and the grass is pretty high back there. Along the way there are some deep woods and a creek. Here's a picture of a deer back there I took last fall.

Pretty nice, right?

Well it would be except that people are absolutely stupid about throwing trash and litter back there. Also the trash blows over from the area where we put out the trash. The condo association are horrible deadbeats who don't provide any trash cans and couldn't give a damn as long as they get their money. There is a steep hill and for the life of me I can't get down there to retrieve the beer bottles.

I live near a high school and the kids go back there to make out. Fine but can't you pick up your trash when you're done? Do people actually think, like the brainless twit of a neighbor who lives above me, that the condo association hires people to pick up this trash? No, you brainless bitch, I pick up your nasty ass lipstick stained cigarette butts myself.

Thanks, I feel better now.

1. People are pigs!
I smoke (with consideration for others) but NEVER throw butts on the ground EVER. It pisses me off when others do and I often get in rather heated battles with others over it. They seem to think the world is their ashtray. And living in AL in the mid-90's there were people that thought it was alright to litter because "the convicts will pick it up"!!! Ignorant asses.

I feel your rage demnan!
:grr: :nuke: :hi:

2. In my world, with me as president tyrant, litterers would be executed
I fuckin' hate it. Nothing spoils the landscape like a collection of Burger King shit and a couple bottles and candy wrappers and what's with putting your goddamn gum on the sidewalk you brainless fucks?

I hate litter.

I was taught as a small child that littering was bad. Not just bad, but akin to evil. So I don't do it. I prefer to see the world in its natural state, without the garbage, thank you.

3. I'm tempted to get a gun
and just fire upward whenever I see a cigarette butt fall. That would stop the litter (and land me in jail).

7. Mine too
Especially people that flick butts as far as possible, when there's a buttcan right next to them.

If I were a Judge Dredd type, there'd be a global ammo shortage in the first three weeks.

10. Oh, man, wouldn't that be a wonderful situation to be in?!
Edited on Tue Apr-19-05 04:36 PM by Rabrrrrrr
"DS1 and Rabrrrrrr have been forced to stop 'cleaning up' the, uh, litter due to worlwide ammo shortage, even after using up such uncommon loads as the .460 Weatherby magnum, the .32 winchester rimfire, the .50 Henry longrifle, the .454 Casul, and millions of 410 loads".

11. I would vote for you
I despise littering. I always wait to find a trash receptacle, no matter what. My mom raised me right as well

5. i wanna beat litterers with a stick. then make them clean up
we hike and fish as much as possible, we love and respect the enviroment. i can't understand why someone would appreciate the woods enough to make the effort to hike out there then throw their gatorade bottles and candy wrappers on the ground. how can you like the woods and throw trash on the ground.

i also can't stand people who throw trash out their car windows. what an attitude: "i can't have this coffee cup messing up the interior of MY car, i'll throw it out the window into the woods."

whenever we go out into nature we carry plastic grocery bags and haul out as much trash as we can carry without a sherpa. yesterday we went fishing in a beautiful park near our house and filled two bags cleaning up 70' of shoreline. again, you'd assume that fisherman would have a basic respect for the enviroment, but you'd be wrong about some of them (us).

(on a side note: who brings a 1.5 liter bottle of irish cream fishing? i cleaned that up yesterday. i admit to stuffing a couple cold beers in the back pack, but a bottle of liquer????)

6. since when have high-schoolers cleaned up their party areas?
wooded areas near high-schools have been trash/bottle repositories for as long as trash and high schools have existed.

9. I don't.

but then, I wouldn't be dumb enough to buy property near a high school, and then act all surprised and indignant about the litter...:eyes:

on edit- not to mention(although i am) that i'd NEVER buy a home near high power lines like the ones in the picture, either.

13. Well la-dee-freakin' da!
Aren't you the well-to-do home shopper?

So littering is okay, because idiots have always done it?

Now THAT's logic! :sarcasm:
