Is it me or does it seem like Freepers are far far more right wing than DU is left wing? I mean DU has a lot of moderates like myself on board. I am dedicated to destroying the evil that has taken over our country since 2000 because they are not conservatives, but far right fascist neo-con-men of evil.

While there are many moderates here on DU (Though the more radical side is more vocal at times), there does not appear to be a single moderate on FR. I mean the entire place is comprised of the most ultra-right wing nutjobs that this country has. Nobody ever makes a reasonable statement. They all seem like such radicals.

Has anyone ever seen a moderate rightwinger on freerepuklic?

Although DU certainly has many moderates in my view, do you think it is possible that those freaks believe nobody here is moderate?

DO you think someone there with their mindset could post the same thing I did with DU and FR interchanged? Would they acknowledge that we have many moderates or would they consider all of us radicals??

I am trying to gain the perspective of different types of people...I am trying to understand what they see and how DU is viewed for the purposes of interacting with these types on the net and in real life. They are a bit of an enigma though...

When i read a thread from there it is only when it is posted on a thread here and occasionally one of them will say something that is on the moderate side. More often than not, he/she is berated in subsequent posts.

Uuummmm, you noticed! Freeperville is an area of the vast unwashed and quite uneducated folk who, despite that, are proud of such position. For example, the word "freedom" is so twisted that it's unrecognizable to Webster's Dictionary. "Liberty" as well. Irrationality is fact. And fact has no rationality. Where words such as "educated" and "arts" are thought to be wastefully negative. Ahhh, such are those in the lower-rankings who voted for George Walker Bush. Those who are being taken for a sleigh-ride by corporate America.

7. As the resident DU expert on the Freeper phenomenon

There are "moderate" Freepers, but many of them are zealots about one issue, like abortion, but sensible on other issues. I have seen some advanced viewpoints on the recent Bankruptcy bill ( AKA Loansharking Enablement Act) from some freepers. Some freepers were semsible and not out of control during the Schiavo thing. A few (most have been banned actually) were true blue conservatives who pointed out the very unconservative inconsistencies in the current incarnation of the republican Party or certain Bush admin policies, or Tom Delay for that matter. (One very, very intelligent Freeper called John Galt was banned because he was a straight thinking conservative, and a very well read one at that. He was hardcore against the Iraq war, for example)

But most of them are fucking nutcases. Really. I post utter drivel I find over there on a daily basis.

If you can remember any more reasonable ones, I would like to know their names! I have a name there too actually, but I do not use it too much. I am Carlo Gambino over there....if they ban me because they saw this then no big deal really. I do not disrupt, but will very rarely post a thing or two once every 4 months or so. They banned me over there as:

If you read enough of FR, you'll see there's a very extremist minority, and a fair number of regular conservatives, and a handful of reasonable people with whom we disagree.

The more I read both sites, the more I'm convinced they're mirror images of each other.

In fact, FR has better evolution debates than DU does.
