1. Introvert.
I don't know if I dislike being treated that way, except I feel that I am persecuted against. I cannot be an extrovert.

2. Myers-Briggs - INTJ
I can spend days by myself without the least contact with others.

Books are my best friends.

4. Yes.
:D

Okay, actually, I came out an E on the Meyers-Briggs, but only barely. I'm like a 50/50 cross between extrovert and introvert.

5. You should make this a poll.
Me, I'm about half and half. I get really nervous when meeting new people or in strange situations but it comes across as excitement and being outgoing. I really enjoy peace and quiet and books and so on but I like people sometimes too. I think I come across much more extroverted than I actually am.

19. I'll be donating shortly. Besides,
if it was a poll, would I have engendered this much conversation; this many responses? :D

anyway. Repost it when you get your star; bet the count would be interesting. Lots more people vote in polls than respond to threads, at least it seems that way to me. :7

6. Introvert, how dare you bother me which such an inane question!
The last psychological profile of me I remember described me as "never driven, seldom led", a general statement with which I must agree after reviewing my life over these many years.

I am a total introvert when it comes to being photographed.

But will make a total spectacle of myself by dancing with a slinky in public. No it's not erotic. it's more of a wondrous gimmick and the perfect dance partner. It also produces an amazing visual and percussive effect.

Am not sure whether or not it's an acquired skill or not. No way to tell.

Love interacting with strangers but love my personal space as well.

So go figure. . .

9. Introvert
It's fine. I have plenty of friends and even go out with them sometimes, and it's okay. But I prefer to be on my own, or with the wife and the bitchy old cat.

16. For me, it really helped when I realized
that everyone is really rather self-centered in a very basic way, so they really enjoy talking about themselves and you can just ask them questions and stuff to get them conversational ball rolling and they like that. It all sort of snowballed from that realization. :7

18. innie here.
That's a good idea about a Carnegie course. I'll look into that. But another part of me says that means if I have to change I'm not good enough to have what I want right now. Make that a conflicted innie.

20. I'm a somewhat social introvert.
I say that because I'm a definite introvert that needs my space and time alone to think and process stuff. I'm not exactly super-outgoing, but I'm not shy either.

21. I'm a major extrovert
my daughter is too. We have to get out of the house among people at least for a while every day or we go nuts. I like being extroverted overall I think.

My husband on the other hand is an introvert. We like him just as he is :)

I've gotten a handle on it over the years, but I'm still more introverted than I'd like.

24. This is interesting: Reading all these responses, and the majority
are from introverts...Now, I'm an EXTROVERT! I like people, talking to them, hearing their points of view, and expressing my own views, also...I'm not usually shy before groups (but I can be, depending on the circumstances). I do enjoy being the way I am. I used to be shy and introverted, but I shed that in college when I discovered that young men wanted...er I mean...liked me! I'm very happy in my own skin and would not trade it for anything...

:kick:

25. Hardcore Introvert
I don't mind being around people sometimes, but I definitely need time alone! Online communication is a mix of both worlds. I get to communicate with others and still get to have some alone time! I get quite a bit more extroverted if I feel very comfortable, but I am sometimes painfully shy. I still get extremely nervous when I get up to talk about something at the Democratic Meetup I attend, but I don't know if I come off that way or not. I tend to have a loud speaking voice, so that might make me appear more extroverted than I am.

26. I'm an introvert
In some ways, I prefer it and wouldn't want to be an other way. On the otherhand, it makes being in certain situations rather stressful. In college, I had a good handle on this. Now, I've developed social anxiety and don't have a good handle on this.

29. extremely introverted INTP here
I can't handle large crowds for more than a few minutes & HAVE to have time to myself - at least a couple of hours a day. There's nothing really to like or dislike, it's just the way I am.
