What Fiction TV Character Have You Disliked the Most?
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 02:56 PM by Liberalynn
I could never stand Marcia Brady of the Brady Bunch.
Phyllis on Mary Tyler Moore
Marlena on Days of Our Lives
Paige Halliwell on Charmed.
Fred Thompson's character on Law and Order. Can't even remember his name but maybe I just can't stand him because he is played by Fred Thompson.
Any fictional characters you dislike?

1. Whatsherpickle of Will and Grace...
Megan Mullally. The sound of her voice is like nails on a blackboard to me. I really enjoy the show when she's not in the scene.

3. Have you seen her lately?
If she were mine she wouldn't be breathing fresh oxygen until she were 25. The way she speaks to her mom is appauling. She had a little friend over on Friday who was rude as hell. Oh, how many times I have wanted to smack her in the face. Why can't these tv writers write a kid who isn't disrespectful and "going through something"?

13. Oh yeah. I've seen her lately.
I can barely stand to watch the show sometimes. The last episode where her little "friend" came over and dissed Amy in her own home had me fuming. I know it's just a TV show but I can't help myself. I was watching that episode and telling myself that if she were mine I'd ground her until she was 25 years old. Then, I thought better: I'd put her up for adoption and make sure that her NEW parents ground her until she's 25.

Oh, and Gary Coleman's character, (forgot his name,) and "Webster."

Danny Bonaduce said it best about child actors.
"If you're cute and you suck, sooner or later you won't be cute anymore and you'll still suck!"

6. Marie Barone from Everyone Loves Raymond.
That woman is nasty and rude. Only she could expect her son and daughter in law to overlook it when she ran their car through their living room. I know that was years ago, but I just can't sit through a show watching her snide remarks to her daughter-in-law.

10. I agree about Shelly Hack
I mean say what you want about Farah, Kate, Jackie and Cheryl but they all at least had a modicum of ability. Poor Shelly didn't even have that in my book either. I think her name was Tiffany. I'm not sure. Then Tanya Roberts was about equally as bad in my book. LOL.

17. The entire cast of "Everyone Loves Raymond"
There is not one single cast member on that show that's likable. Maybe the actors and actresses playing the characters might be likable in real life (I'm thinking of Brad Garrett, Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts), but their characters certainly aren't.

Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 08:55 AM by Mike Daniels
Mr. Costanza at least seemed to have a bit of life and character.

Ms. Costanza was just a harpy and nagging shrew.

22. Most leading characters on a dramatic series
There have been exceptions (Colombo comes to mind), but most TV good guys are colorless characters designed not to offend anyone. Any real humanity they begin to show is trumped by the fact that they're married to their work (which might explain why they all have a new romantic relationship with a different attractive guest star every week).

I stopped watching television years ago because I found myself rooting for the villains. They're so much more interesting as characters.
