American Idol results proves the absence of gray matter in voters' heads
Forget (for the purposes of the competition) that he assaulted his girlfriend, forget that his "potential farewell" song last night proves he can't sing, forget his punk ass wannabe bravismo is a joke coming from someone who looks like he does....

The fact that people would vote for Scott after he practically insulted every American Idol viewer with his post performance statements on Tuesday proves that the voters don't have one functional brain cell between however many million voted last night.

Granted I wouldn't vote for any of these people to get a record contract over more worthy talent that probably didn't even audition. That said, even if I had considered possibly casting a vote for Scott on Tuesday his contemptuous attitude to the people who allow him to be on stage week after week would have been enough to say "hell no and buh-bye".

The fact that he stayed when a more deserving and talented competitor was eliminated shows that something is flawed behind this show's "forget the past, vote strictly on this performance" concept is whacked.

Yeah, I know this is hardly the first time anyone's complained about the voting on American Idol but I've never seen someone basically insult the voters after giving a piss-poor performance and still remain in the competition.

2. I think watching American Idol proves the absence of.........
Nothing personal, but don't people have better things to do than watch a tired retread of the Geritol Amateur Hour crossed with the Gong Show?

9. I love this shit... really ... I LOVE IT!
Can we assume you're a volunteer who does nothing but help the needy 24/7 and devote your time to activism?

You don't watch any shows at all except documentaries that inform you of issues related to your activism, right?

Please, tell me I'm right. If not... well... I'd better not say any more.

11. Of course I don't do all the stuff you cite
I watch little TV - only Arrested Development and Deadwood, maybe South Park and the Daily Show, sometimes Sponge Bob with my kids and Football. I raise my kids with my wife, sing with a chorus, play trumpet, work, spend some time in DU, teach adult literacy and write my Dissertation.

I guess you could say I am an Elitist Snob. I would take it as a compliment. Somebody has to be the Elite.............

15. I wasn't asking because I cared. I'm making a point.
That you can insult people for what they do, and others can turn around and insult you for what you do... WHY?

It's pointless, mean, and rude.

However, rude seems to be considered 'cool' lately, so... whatever.

5. The truth is
He is the underdog without a question. There are probably many people who are sick of the pretty boys, diva "wanna-bees" and sappy pop singer that no one listens to anyway. I don't vote, and wouldn't waste my time, but I have seen this Scott dude take a lot of shit because of his looks and attitude. He is the perfect anti-American idol and I think he also gets a lot of those votes.

7. The presidential vote already proved American's stupidity.
We already know they will vote wrong!

I was SHOCKED AND APPALLED that Nadia was booted and Scott stayed.

My theory from previous seasons in that some people vote by type, and that the "black girl singer" vote was split between Vonzelle and Nadia.

8. It's a fucking talent show.
FCOL... it could be a sign that people just assumed the more talented singers would win, so they didn't vote. While those that for whatever reason like that guy knew he sucked and needed help so they actually voted. Did you consider that?

12. when it comes down to reality shows I'm more comfortable with Idol
than many of the others which are anything but "reality". It's a talent show and they have been around since the beginning of time. But as to Scott, I agree, of the three he should have been sent home. How he get's by each week is beyond me, but I won't insult his looks in the process. There are plenty of good singers who are big guys--the truth is that Scott does the same thing every week and get's away with it. He must have some fans out there.

14. I think the EXISTENCE and POPULARITY of American Idol proves...
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 01:08 PM by Rabrrrrrr
the absence of gray in the heads of MILLIONS of Americans.

Not to mention the last election results, and a whole host of other things.

Remember at the end of the first American Idol show, when THOUSANDS if not HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS were pissy and bitter and made huge public complaints because there weren't enough phone lines available for them to register their votes? Remember reading from some of the complainers that they *dialed constantly for hours and never were able to get through*. And how wronged and slighted and completely worthless as human beings they felt?

I think that proves a SHITLOAD of absence of gray matter.

16. This year's Idol results are predetermined
They inexplicably failed to include any Hawai'i contestant, so "da braddah/seestah from da Mainlan'" wins by default. :puke:

Does anyone up there (well, you, obviously) even watch the doggone thing?
