The "Which DUers have you met?" thread
It occured to me that a lot of people have met DUers! I thought it would be cool to see how many and who everyone has met. I have not met any yet, but am curious as to who has! I'm sure we've probably had threads like this before, but I want to know :) So spill it, which DUers have you met?

JM or JMM?

the guy who won my CD at the second Philly gathering.

there was that great guy from Ithica in DC.

the kid who saw my DU bumper sticker at an anti-war demonstration and said, "Hey. I'm so-and-so from DU."

all the awesome people who got wet at that softball game that I'm accidently leaving out.

at least 10 other people whose screennames I am blanking on right now, but I remember talking to you and what we talked about.

there was that guy who got me really drunk in the East Village and I was going to edit his weird book and start a polyamorous pod with he and his wife...he was a DUer. Are you still out there? Sorry, I got real busy. ;-)

and flama is my mom.

And again, if you're one of the people I left off this list, that doesn't mean I don't think you're great.

:loveya:

I won't name any names, in case anybody doesn't want it known where they are, though. I know there are numerous DUers from this area, it's entirely possible I've met others who live here other than through political organizations and just don't know their screen names, I guess.

30. Zero (I think)
I went to a Howard Dean meetup in August in Storrs, CT when I was here, but less active here. I haven't been able to go to anymore because I have a class Wednesday nights and just massive kid activity responsibilities the rest of the time so it's really hard for me to be as much of an activist as I'd like to be at this point in my life. Anyway, there could have possibly been some DUers there? I think the back of my head is on the Aug meetup pictures.
There's a handful of DUers I'd like to meet, one in particular. Hopefully, I will eventually.

...for example, GAspnes, Love Bug, myrna minx, dflprincess, voted4wellstone, thermodynamic, northernsoul, Jackpine Radical, dpbrown, I met scarletwoman once last February I think, and a few others.

I still haven't met leftist_rebel and Nobody as far as TC DUers go, I haven't met Butterfly Blood, who is in Mankato.

And I know there are a few Fargo and Red River Valley DUers like markus, ploppy and CocaCola05284(sp?) and another North Dakotan, alex covington.

I'm gonna try to organise a small Red River Valley DU get-together this winter once I notice more registered DUers from the area.

60. A ton!
I'd guess about 30 in person and about 10 more in close phone conversations.

And looking forward to meeting many, many more!

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting Sasquatch :bounce: who flew out for a week-end.

Right now I'm working on John Kleeb and Darranar but have a feeling I'll have to fly to the East Coast for that honor.

I can't even list the others I want to meet ;) but there are a ton- starting with the phone list :)

If I could win the lottery, I'd love to buy one of those RV things and drive around just meeting DUers. That would be too cool!

Peace

92. Definitely cross country!
We have to make it from here all the way to John Kleeb and Darranar!

I figure we could do a big O... head up North to meet Pastiche and co, whip through Chicago for Hedda Foil, hook over for Indiana Green, northeast to Boston to give Raven a few hints about keeping Will in line ;), straight down the East coast eating crab-cakes the entire time ((someone promised me crab-meat, now who was that ;) ), Cat Woman, Ulysses, Jan Michael, Solomon in New Orleans, Rev Caol in Texas, So Cal Dem... and oh the list is long and full of miles to go, people to meet, and promises, promise...

You're in sugah :) Just don't forget that Black and Blue...

I'll make you a DU pact- if I win, we're on ;)

Do you remember that scene in the movie Mask where the boy had a map of the US stuck with pins of everywhere he wanted to go?

Maybe we should start one for our DU trip...
We can hang it on the wall on the second floor of Tommy's

66. No way I could list them all...
...I've been to two major Texas gatherings; got together with some of the folks in Chicago; went to a Philly gatering; and have met other DUers singly here and there.

No way I could I list everyone without leaving someone out. I've had a blast every time I have met DUers. If you get the chance, go and meet up with your fellow DU family members. You'll be glad you did. :-)

who refused to be paraded through the streets of Austin in a mock display of unity (or maybe ill conceived protest route planning)! ;-)

GOPisEvil, the ringleader...openly defiant to those not knowing their arse from a hole in the ground. He knows you do not walk around the block to get to your back door!

sonias, patient and determined, yet not one to quietly suffer parade route planners lack of direction.

bluestateguy, earnest amd intense, do not mock this man, even when discussing the Fox Broadcasting Channel (not Faux News).

VelmaD, pugnacious and resolute, the f*cking cops WERE to blame. :D

What was the point of that? Oh well...maybe the next rally will be better planned.

The best rallies are the ones at the Capitol. Those rock! :-)

But I only have one person to blame for that.

And that would be George W. Bush. ... Ok, darn it, that's one thing I can't blame him for. Only myself for missing the last two Texas gatherings in Austin.
