I have had enough with PETA picking on me

Listen, hippies. If you don't want to eat my chickens, ok. That will leave more for the rest of us. Just get off my back for providing top quality eating chickens. And that is all they are good for, besides laying eggs. And after they lay all of their eggs we eat them anyway.

1. It's quite simple
Abide by your agreement to take new initiatives to provide for the welfare and humane treatment of the animals that are in the care of your producers.

I'm sure you also know that "eating chickens" (egads) are a far cry from chickens used for laying eggs (battery hens). Just a slip up, I'm sure.

One couldn't tell by the taste that there's chicken in that stuff anyway.

4. Nothing better than
when the pro-lifers....er, PETA supporters come out of the woodwork to twist what people say who don't agree with them.

Question, why did KFC give in to a boycott by people who, for the most part, don't eat their food anyway?

14. Oh why do I do it??
Why? Why? Why? :banghead: :banghead:

Why did I stick my ass in the middle of that thread. :banghead:

 I'm telling ya. "GD" really stands for "God Damn it .... SHUT UP!".

I should know better NOT to get into it with the PETA Patrol.

:sarcasm: Did you know that I am an animal hater?

Damn it! They found out my plan to fatten up m' cats for dinner!

Also, I'm not "a real democrat". :sarcasm:

I'm staying here where it's safe and people don't have sticks crammed up their asses. :hide:

5. PETA believes in no use of animals ever for anything.
They think that my grandmother should have died instead of getting a pig valve to replace her faulty mitral valve in her heart.

This is a slippery slope: if PETA can extort KFC for this, what's to stop them from slinging their entire agenda on them slowly. Don't encourage them!

If someone else wants to bring up the treatment of the chickens, that would be better, but PETA has an agenda far beyond this, and should be taught a lesson that they won't get it.

7. Though I can't speak for PETA myself
it's likely that they wouldn't have wished your grandmother's death in any event. They would have preferred that science taken the responsible approach of designing and creating a more advanced method of replacing/repairing human organ than using a valve from a pig.

Unless of course you've SPOKEN with Ingrid Newkirk, and asked her that very question, and gotten that very response, at which point I would bow to your expertise on the subject. Otherwise, sounds like projection to me.

13. I don't have to ask her if she'd take specific extremist views...
Edited on Wed Apr-13-05 01:37 PM by LoZoccolo
...on every single imaginable issue to draw an inference from her firm general principles of not using animals for anything. Of course she'd prefer an artificial valve. What is this woman thinking, that scientists could have developed a better one and they didn't because they just like to slaughter pigs?

16. Glad I caught your multiple edits before responding.
Scientists could have, yes I'm sure (I have faith in our scientists to have such skills). Pigs are cheaper and there's quite the supply of them. I'm also pretty sure that those that would design such a miraculous item would be far removed from the slaughter of pigs.

So, to say that so-and-so would rather your grandmother died is a little extremist on your own behalf, eh? Maybe based on your dislike of PETA.

Kettle, meet pot.

18. Your faith in the skills of scientists is not good enough.
Especially when you're not one.

PETA is an extremist organization that's purely poetic at best, dangerous at worst.

31. I wish science worked on its own like that
They would have preferred that science taken the responsible approach of designing and creating a more advanced method of replacing/repairing human organ than using a valve from a pig.

Ha, ha, yes, they certainly would have *preferred* that scientists do that. But would any of them actually go to school for ten years, go to work for a lab, and put years or decades into inventing such a method? Certainly not many.

Science doesn't just happen on its own, you know. I think when someone's life is on the line, people tend to use the available technology.

9. And the inferiority of Humankind...
They kind of lost sight of the fact that we were put on this planet, too.
It's "noble" for a pack of wolves to pull down and eat an Elk, or Orcas to hunt and eat Seals, but it's "disgusting" and "un-needed cruelty" for Man to butcher and eat a cow.

Seems to be a lot of Species self-loathing wrapped up in the PETA philosophy...

and all your problems would go away. We all admit that them spices is good eatin'. Why do you need to dump them on a corpse to sell 'em? Imagine the profit margins.

You know you want better profit margins KFC. You know you do...
