3. Yours is in August?
What state is your RenFest in? It's rather hot that time of year. I'd be roasting in my costume.

I've heard of RenFest weddings, but have never been to one. That would be excellent! :toast:

8. We're in Maryland...
It runs from the last weekend in August until the next-to-last weekend in October. And yes, it is horrendously hot in the costumes.

Our wedding was great--everyone had a blast and I can honestly say it was the best wedding I've ever been to. :)

I've heard good stories about the Maryland RenFest. I wish it were closer. :(

5. What fun...
The Texas Renaissance Festival is held in the woods north of Houston. The grounds are permanently established, with fine buildings & gardens that get better every year. Jousting & racing is handled by local cowboys who've trained for years. It's held in October & November, when the weather is beginning to cool down.

I haven't been in years & really ought to make an effort this fall. Do have a fine time & post pictures.

7. Did you know...
that the Texas RenFest is the largest in North America. Fall is an excellent time!

You really should visit, and you don't have to be in costume, unlike us RenFest fanatics.

10. Since you've seen everyone...
You know a lot of the folks there? Just asking because my cousins have a place (or 2?) there.

13. Well, in Atl they have a hair braiding place and maybe
a food shop as well- it's hard to remember what's where, as they also do NY and (I believe) TX. IIRC, they opened a restaurant/cafe at the TX site a couple yrs ago....

You'd definitely know my cousin's husband Phil if you saw him- handsome fella around 6'6".

I've had my hair done at their shop then. I'll be on the lookout for them.

Should be starting anytime now in Atlanta.

18. G'day, RubyDuby
You must visit the RenFest! Rather, thy presence is request to attend His Majesty's Festival in the fair town of Newcastle.

My brother is one of the characters in the play. I'll be my favorite character, Sir Argyle, Lord Navigator of the Realm.

16. Sorry, doesn't ring a bell
there are a couple of carts with hair pins and pieces, but I don't remember a rather large gentleman working there.

There are several jewelery, costume, herb and spice shops, to name a few. Do any of those categories jog your memory?

17. Not really
The only time we visited them there, we hung out almost exclusively at their hair place (it's a permanent shop as opposed to carts/kiosks. Rhonni & Grace are almost always there - wish I could remember what Phil was doing at the time.)

22. Michigan Ren Fest is in August-September...
we've got Ded Bob and the Washing Well Wenches, Thom Sellectomy too (I just visited your Georgia ren fest site).

We've also got Manolete (dangerously sexy ball-banging) and some others, plus the jousting. I love Manolete! He's a "real" dancer besides his ren fest persona.

I like going to the ren fest, I've got a great outfit ... it's the one place where a rubenesque woman is still truly appreciated!
