The NFL forces its minor leaguers to risk their careers for at least two years, playing for free at a University.


The NBA is now proposing to force its minor leaguers to risk their careers for at least two years, playing for free at a University.


MLB in contrast pays its minor leaguers to play for a farm club, and they get called up to the bigs whenever the franchise thinks they're ready, regardless of their age.

But it should be noted that, if a baseball player goes to college, he must go for at least two years before he's able to be drafted again.

to prevent players from choosing to go to college for one year to avoid signing with the team that drafted them out of high school...seems pretty reasonable to me.
