I preserved a legacy today,

It may seem trivial to some, but, I took a previously well made set of hedge clippers that had seen neglected use and reconditioned them to a quite wonderful state.
How nice, some will say...but I can purchase a WONDERFUL "electric" clipper at HOME DIPPY .
Yes, it's relatively cheap, and very available, but I urge all that are versed in the concept of "PEAK OIL" to go to garage sales or whatever to obtain these tools of our forefathers (no,not Jefferson).
They knew how to make tools that at base, were able to be "reclaimed"
& maintained.

If we don't disappear in a nuclear strange land , but , things turn out that we don't have the "niceties" of our go-go oil based culture,
than the "real tools" will be the most valuable legacy that you will ever leave to your children & (hopefully) those generations to come.

1. I love bringing old stuff back

I worked in a nursery and I kept finding Felco pruners that had been laid down and forgotten, used as pry tools etc-I turned the first 2 pair in and kept the 3rd pair and the Felco saw I found, bought them new blades, oil and stuff, et voila! New tools!
