I've had their low-sugar TKs and they're really good!!

I'm assuming you've eaten all the ones in your tin? You'll have to invite me back just so you can get more from me as a Thank You present

12. No - it's not fried - it's just apple pie, but it's got an
iced frosting on top. Truthfully, it's been a while since I've allowed myself the pleasure of having one, but they are really good.

13. Peach pie! Cherry pie!
The gas station around the corner carried Tastykake fruit pies ONCE. I thought my life had turned around, but they've never had them again. All supermarkets around here carry krimpets and whatnot, but nobody has the fruit pies. WAAAAAH!

19. I am Tastykake's Little Princess
My grandfather owned a grocery store that sold a lot of Tastykakes, so, when my birthday rolled around, the Tastykake man always showed up with a great big cake, make just for me, with a princess (who looked a lot like me) in the center, tiara and all, and the whole, big, round cake was her very fancy skirt.

It was by far the coolest birthday cake in the entire history of the world, every year.

20. This ex-philly girl misses them
in Junior High my lunch used to consist of butterscotch krimpets and chocolate cupcakes. And milk.

Seriously. That's what I used to eat in school.

I found a place nearby here in Los Angeles that flies them in but whenever I'm there they are "out." Damn.

I am visiting Philly next month...can't wait!

22. I've never had one
But I have a general mistrust for products that contain bastardized spellings of real words. For example, I don't eat anything with the word "Cheeze" in it. So I'm not too inclined to eat something called a "Kandy Kake", no matter how good people insist it is.

25. I grew up in Philly, and Tastykakes are all I miss from there
Just seeing those pictures makes me nostalgic . . and hungry. I've eaten hundreds of most of the deserts pictured during the first 20 years of my life. I loved the other pies too - blueberry, cherry, peach . . .

26. Weren't those PB treats called "TANDY" Takes?
They're not as tasty as they once were, but I recall those peanut butter cakes being Tandy Takes, not Kandy Kakes.

They were my favorite...but then I matured and simply loved those butterscotch krimpets...remember when they used wax paper?

Yum.........

They're all good.

Philly Connection sub shops in Dallas sold Tastykakes, but now they've apparently closed down all their Dallas shops. Ever since then, I've been in Kandy Kake withdrawal. Rrrrrrrrr...

I like the plain chocolate cupcakes (no filling) with the sheet of chocolate frosting on top. Oh man, those are good. :D

Since I had to pick one, though, I chose the Kandy Kakes.
