The surest sign that spring is here: MRS. V. HAS FIRED UP THE GRILL!!

She has been itching to get cooking outside again since the first frost last fall. Now she's running in and out of the house, sweating, panting, charcoal dust on her face and t-shirt, smelling like fire... GOD, I love that woman!

She cooks for a week on the weekends, all through spring, summer, and early fall. Tonight it's teriyaki salmon (la specialite de la maison--for tonight's dinner) and chicken bosoms and leg quarters. She'll also throw on some broccoli. Sometimes she puts asparagus on the grill and when you eat it, all you know on earth is the joy of what you're chewing on. Close your eyes and you are transported to veggie nirvana.

Hallelujah! Mrs. V. is grilling again!!

Had butterfly porkchops with honey mustard sauce off the grill last night. I also have a real hankering for some brauts and dawgs off the grill too. That sounds like a plan for later this week...

I do love the grill, and I hope kevsand says the same stuff about me that you say about Mrs V! She's a lucky woman too!
