Poll question: True or False
No matter where you go, there's ALWAYS some FUCKHEAD that is ALWAYS making some sort of noise, no matter how utterly serene the rest of the houses around him are.

Case in point, my scumfuck asshole neighbor, with his fucking dog barking all day while he burns off some brush. Now he's fired up his pansy assed riding lawnmower. But he's not even on it. He's not even anywhere in sight. It's just sitting there, running. I want to beat him into the grass with a cricket bat.

3. He just got finished hiking his pants up before going on his
lawn tour. Lazy piece of shit, it's not even a really big yard.

Now he's navigating it around the truck that's been in pieces under a tarp since last August.

Wait, I'M LIVING NEXT TO A FREEPER!!! :argh: :D

4. It's flat, and therefore takes less energy to get more body
into the ground.

5. Well, it's not ALL flat, it's kind of rounded in back for added
stiffness and strength :).

And I know the type of neighbors you're talking about. I have one on each side of me. One is a "lady" who actually owns a home in New Hampshire but rents this apartment in Lowell so she can "entertain" her family that lives locally. So not only is she wealthy enough to afford to places to live, but she has the attitude of entitlement that goes with it and gets offended when she's asked to keep the noise down. Then there's the redneck next door who blast crappy music at weird hours (not late at night, he just somehow knows when you're trying to focus on something important and chooses that exact moment to blow your concentration to hell), not to mention he's an obvious Bush voter (assuming he could read enough to find the word "Bush" on his ballot).

Grrrr.

6. I find
I don't have this problem in the rain forest. Unless it raises your blood pressure to be able to hear the raindrops walk barefoot through the tops of the trees.

7. Ironic that you should bring this up.
I just came in from my back yard. The middle-aged neighbor behind me is entertaining guests that I'm sure all are in need of hearing aids. They are all talking and howling at a level that is much higher than required for normal conversation. To make it worse, she has an aluminum awning attached to the back of the house where they are gathered on the patio. This makes it have an amphitheater effect on the acoustics and sends it all my way. It's not much better when she doesn't have company because she has two little dogs that are yapping constantly.

9. True.
Some fuckhead behind us is building a 2 sheds (way to close to the property line, but that's for my ex to deal with now and why 2 is anyone's guess because they're huge). I have to go to work all night and need a nap, but between that clown and a bunch of other loud fuckwits, I can't take the damned nap I need. :grr:

10. People and their goddamn dogs!
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 02:15 PM by tjdee
Most of my immediate neighbors have dogs, and they let them out, and they bark bark bark bark all fucking afternoon/night at each other, passing cars, me when I come home....

I know we've had some threads here about cats wandering, but *DAMN* are dogs much more irritating. Don't get me started on going to the beach/park with people whose dogs aren't leashed....

In general, though, when it gets warm out people love to show their ass in public. It's like some kind of heat reaction.

15. No shit, with a big enough dog you're polluting 3 or 4 sq blocks
with yapping.

Wandering cats *pffft* :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

11. I voted coffee, but Valium would be better
that's what is involved in living in a neighborhood. People have dogs and they mow their lawns. You have to live in an isolated rural community, miles from the next house, to avoid noise.

16. Eh. I blame this on asshole factor. I know I'm gonna sound just like
my dad now, but he's had a point. If it's fucking gorgeous outside on a peaceful Sunday afternoon, some cockknocker will inevitably fire up his lawnmower. Works every time. They don't do it on Saturday, when most people are out doing things, they don't do it after work on any other day of the week, which is better for the grass since there's less time in the direct sunlight after a cutting, etc etc.

Fucking people. And it's people like me that create 'sprawl', because all we want to do is get away from people like them. But in 20 odd years, there'll be no place left to go

12. Yeah, people making noise bugs the hell out of me
I work night shift so if my neighbors are quiet during the day so I can get some sleep I consider that a victory.
