9. Yuck, ice cream.
I'm not a fan.

(Okay, I worked at an ice cream shop for years. Wore it home in my hair every day. And do you how it smells when you are making it? Bleah.)

23. You gotta be kiddin' me
When I make ice cream, I mix the eggs, milk, sugar, and flavors myself. I handcrank the stuff in a White Mountain freezer. And I always enjoy ice cream, even if the batch I make turns out less than perfect.

25. You doubt me?
No, I really don't like it.

I think you're on the right track, making it yourself. At a commercial facility, it smells like sour milk & salt.

29. I'd recommend at least one attempt at making your own
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 10:13 PM by derby378
You still need rock salt and all the ingredients, but the overall experience might soften you towards ice cream - especially when you know you're making it yourself.

If I find a homemade ice cream vendor at something like First Monday Trade Days in Canton, TX, I always try to support them with a little cash. Gives me a chance to sample their stuff, too. There's nothing quite like homemade, although some folks come close.

I googled "beer ice cream," and that was only the first hit. There are others. Changing only one letter in the search term gets you this:

Cherry Garcia is great. Edy's has a Cherry chip bada bing which is probably better. Cookie dough, mocha chip, cookies and cream.

And then I love cinnamon ice cream. That is right up there with chocolate.

37. has anyone tried the Strawberry Shortcake ice cream from Baskin Robbins ?
it's supposed to be one of those seasonal limited edition flavors for now. but it's really good. it's vanilla ice cream with lots of swirls of strawberry and little pieces of shortcake. it's really good.

overall i tend to like cookie dough ice cream, mint chip and pistachio.
