And, with this, I'm off to the ER.
Not asking for med diagnosis...will let the ER doc do that. I've got more than one symptom of Lyme disease, and I appreciate the poster who suggested that my problem might not be a spider bite at all.

Bless all of you, DU. I'll let you know what's up when I get back.

 :scared:

8. UPDATE: Well, I changed my mind.
I called the Mississippi Poison Control Center when I got off of the internet. The guy I talked to said that I do have symptoms of Lyme Disease, but that there is little the ER could do for me for that tonight.

Even though I am having a splitting headache, body aches, a splotchy rash, and muscle aches, and even though my insurance would cover my visit, I am staying home until Monday, and will go see my doctor Monday morning.

Thanks for all the well-wishes, guys.

10. Thanks. I will.
I'm not so sure that I won't go in tonight. The knots in my underarm are really painin' me. :(

If nothing else, but for these cranium splitting headaches I am having. Thanks for the advice. :)

At least go to the ER for your headache. FYI - stiff neck was another of my symptoms.

17. Does the rash look like a bullseye?
That's one of the big flagposts of Lyme disease. Anyway, take care of yourself.

14. What's the point in staying home and being miserable?
candlebright is so right! How does anyone know WHAT you have?
Best to go to the ER now--just go to a good ER and go with someone!

16. Maddy, GO TO THE ER NOW!!!
If the center of your problem is your armpit, it may mean what ever it is is into your lymph nodes (a lot of them are under your arm!) If a toxin or whatever gets in there, it can spread over your body very fast! Go!!!!!

If you have insurance, Why take the chance???!!!!

20. I'm back.
The doctor put me on drip for dehydration and gave me pain medicine in the drip, and phenergen to keep me from being, um, sick anymore.

He couldn't tell me what had bitten me, so he gave me a prescription for antibiotics, and if the knots don't go away, I'm to follow up with my regular doctor.

And he gave me a prescription for something called Fioricet for my headaches. So, I am on four different meds (Lomotil, Fioricet, Phenergen, and Clondamycin) until I can get in to see my regular doctor, who is out of town right now.

Thanks, everyone, for pushing me to go.

Our emergency room in our small hometown, sadly, doesn't always try to get to the bottom of an illness, but tries to take care of symptoms until you can get in to see your regular physician. I guess that's the way it is with most small-town hospital ERs.

I hope you don't have to be on all of those for very long, and that none of them have conflicts w/eachother.
Good Luck

22. I have a good friend who is a pharmacist.
When I get these filled tomorrow AM, I'm going to ask her if they are all necessary. As far as I can tell, only the pain med and the antibiotic are absolutely necessary.

:)

24. Phenergan is relatively mild.
Mild enough that when I had some bad bouts of nausea during pregnancy I took it (I had it bad enough unfortunately that I was on the borderline of being hospitalized for dehydration) and it help a lot with the nausea. I hope you get better. I was worried about you.
