Anyone else hate American Chopper?

I live with 3 men (hubby and two sons) who watch this show 24/7. These assholes on this show are freepers who build motorcycles. I cannot stomach listening to their patriotic bullshit about these goddamn motorcycles.

This episode on now is about a Statue of Liberty tribute bike. They just said this bike stands for freedom, just like Lady Liberty.

I am not that into motorcycles. But I thought this was just harmless mindless entertainment until a few months ago I started hearing these guys talking about patriotism while building these gawdy machines.

3. It's the same damn show every week...

Paul Jr. piddles around building a bike, Big Paul gets pissed and screams at him then throws something. Mikey just gets in the way and is a general fuck-up.

What I don't understand is why getting the bike built by Tuesday is a matter of life and death.

I'm a guy and the only way I can watch it is stoned. Then it is fuckin' hilarious.

It's just toys for boys. I watch it and get disgusted (politically) and then tune in again. But my fave is Monster Garage.

I can't explain it to you - it's just one of those things that boys do. Hey I'm a liberal, feminist, sensitive, queer guy - but gimme some tools and some machinery to work on and I'm set for days.

It's what men do -even wonderful liberal amazingly cool men are still men. Boys will be boys?

Ok - while we boys are doing boy things, maybe you girls should do really cool girl things?

9. I love choppers and grew up around bikes

But the choppers they build on "American Chopper" seem a bit clunky and not meant to be ridden everyday. The lines of their bikes are are too sharp and thick.

But boys and girls love a good chopper with flowing lines that's a nice ride and not all show.

10. There's nothing wrong with bikes, but THEIR bikes suck hard.

There are a hell of a lot of other builders out there that know how to make a real bike that's actually designed to be ridden.

12. OCC is so funny !

It's the only motorcycle building show we watch. Try it for a week. Their work is amazing. They goof around a lot, it's really funny ! :rofl:

Personally I don't like Ape-hangers and I've never ridden anything with extended front forks.

But it's a family business and they love what they're doing. :wtf::shrug: It looks like they bathe and put on clean clothes on a regular basis.

Give the Orange County Choppers show a play.
