My dog got a skunk facial last night
Oh the humanity, me and my entire house stink bad. If the skunk had insurance I'd sure him.

Don't ever let the dog get wet or you will be right back in the stink. My brother in law's dog smelled to high heaven 3 years after a facial whenever she got wet. good luck

3. yuck
I feel you. I passed a dead skunk on the road last night and was gagging for a couple minutes. I can hardly imagina what it'd be like to have that scent in the house :puke:

tomato juice today, I was going to film it because I'm sure there's a website out there that needs that kind of stuff but my wife wouldn't let me.

7. Tomato juice
Our dog tangled with a civet cat in the Rockies.

We found out then that you have to soak down the affected area - well, the dog - with tomato juice (not V-8, just cheap tomato juice), and let the dog sit. Rinse every half-hour or so, and repeat. Drives the dog nuts, but it works.

And, yes, for years afterward, whenever she got wet, she had that bit of skunk smell on her, poor old girl.

6. That happened to my cat years ago
We tried to wash him but after we wet him down, he looked so funny that we laughed out loud. The poor cat felt humiliated and jumped out of the sink. He stunk like a skunk for a long time.
I wish you better luck with your dog.

12. Recipe
1 quart hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
few drops dish soap (Dawn is best)

Mix just before using. Wash dog with regular shampoo, rinse, then apply mixture all over, avoiding eyes. Let dry on dog. Repeat if necessary.
