A request for all men who are starting to (or have) go bald
Please, please please:

  1. Do not get a toupee - they look like crap and everyone will comment about the dead animal on your head
  2. Do not do that damn combover - you look silly when there is a windstorm and your combover flies back to the other side
  3. Do not try one of those long-hair pony tails to try and cover up the balding spot
  4. Hair transplants can be ok, but go into hiding for 6 months or wear a hat until the crop rotations disappear

Personally, I don't mind a little balding on a man. I'd rather date a bald man than someone trying to cover it up with some bizarre method. Or better yet - just shave it all off - I love that look!!

2. some people don't have the head
that looks OK if it is shaved. But some do.
But most won't know until it's shaved. Catch-22 I guess.

PS - I have my hair. :P

9. A shaved head looks good on guys with nice round craniums, but....
I've got this kind of sagittal crest thing going here...

3. my uncle looks better with a toupee
his head has splotches on it and trust me, its better to cover that up.

If you have black, brown, or red spots on your head, you can't really do the Kojack look.

4. I second that request
I've been bald for years and I keep the sides cut close. A former boss did the combover thing - wrong idea. A former shipmate tried the hair plugs - wrong idea. Just let nature takes its course. Besides, chicks dig bald men. No kidding.

5. I am just going bald gracefully
No artificial attempts to cover it up.
Saw one of the pics of me from behind from vacation, chrome dome and all.
Damn that sunburn hurt that I got last week on the beach though.

8. I estimate that my hair-line has receeded
by about half an inch (I have been known to spend a very long time examining it). It's scary starting to go bald, but the other options do not yet come into play.

11. I agree! Don't fight nature, just live with it.
Though I wear my hair almost all shaved down now anyway, when the time comes that I go baldish, it's coming off. No bullshit ego-feeding implants for me; no shitty looking oil-and-dandruff infested combovers so that I look like a car salesman; no toupees; no finking pony tail thingy.

Just accept nature, people, in all your body stuff, in all their glorious humanity.

No shame in being bald.

12. I Went Bald On Top At 17. Better That Way. Why You Ask?
Edited on Wed Apr-06-05 08:46 AM by DistressedAmerican
Because I never took it as a getting old thing.

More than that I made a killing buying booze for my underage friends. Do not let anyone tell you that going bald young does not have its advantages. Didn't hurt that I was 6 foot 4 inches with a full beard at that age.

I think all hair replacement is for the weak and vain. Get a grip people!
