I, quite literally, am shaking with anger at the moment. It's been a most infuriating day.

6. I'll try to make it short.

I have a state College Democrats convention starting on the 15th. Our club provided $100, but I needed $134.00 to make up the rest. The student commission denied my funding request, I think because me and a few other people are investigating their frivolous spending. This is a student government that thinks nothing of spending $5,000 on Livestrong bracelets that nobody buys. They can spend that kind of money on stupid shit, but they can't give me $134.00 for a legitimate emergency. It's retaliation, I'm pretty sure.

We approached him about the rampant fiscal irresponsibility on several occasions and he's blown us off. That's why we went to the paper.

That sucks. Our DoS is a great guy who has been a helpful, fair moderator in all student disagreements.

The editor LOATHES student commission with a passion because they'd done a similar thing to the paper, though on a larger scale. I left him a voice mail as soon as I heard that our funding request motion lost.

That sucks big time. Can you appeal the decision? Perhaps a written letter, detailing the follies of the $5k decision versus the $134 you need? Or do you have a school paper where you can submit a letter, saying basically the same thing?

It's a bunch of political bullshit. Basically, they spend money like drunken sailors, we look into it, then when we need money, they turn us down. Rank retaliation.

Which is not all that scandalous, but there's an astonishing lack of transparency and we can't even get a straight answer to simple questions like how much money each individual club has in their account. Plus they allocate all these funds to some clubs and they'll spend a third of it, and the remaining two-thirds is never seen again.
