What was the theme of your prom?
At my high school, the juniors decided the theme for the senior prom & decorated for them. So, my senior prom was Tropical Paradise. The juniors hated us.

When I was a junior, we picked Streets of Paris/Phantom of the Opera. The concourse/entry area was a street - and we built flat frames of houses, which we stretched canvass across & painted. The houses lined both walls as you walked through ... we also had street lights & benches, etc. The gym was done in the Phantom theme - even had a big-ass fake chandelier.

What was your's?

5. "Love Story" - 1971
It was a top movie and song during my Senior Year in High School. I remember the band that played our prom botched the song big-time the first time they played it. When they were finished, the singer leaned into the microphone and said "Sorry, kids - we'll do it better next time."

And they didn't.

9. "Wonderful Tonight" - Eric Clapton
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 02:02 PM by Sandpiper
That was my senior prom. I didn't go to my junior prom so I don't recall what it was.

My school actually sprung for a pretty decent location. It was at a posh restaurant with an open-sky dance floor.

And we had a DJ, not a band.

This was surprising considering what a redneck highschool I went to.

10. That sounds nice ...
I went to a redneck high school, too. It was built on a farm ... got pretty stinky in the warmer months.

Had a reggae band called the Flow. I didn't go that year, but from what I heard our class put on a good one.

12. Forever Young
I don't remember anything special about it except we got to see the baby pics of the king/queen candidates and there was a song with the same name as the theme, but I haven't heard it since. :eyes:

13. That was almost fifteen years ago, I honestly don't remember
Probably "Enchanted Evening" or "Summer's Breeze" or something else that sounded like a douche.

We got high and went to the beach instead, which was cold and windy because it was Oregon. I performed my first act of consensual oral sodomy. Ah, an enchanted evening indeed!

;)

26. I think that's pretty much the theme everywhere
Except that my school was definitely the dumbfuck moron school. Most schools do the "shitty music then get drunk and fuck" part, but don't have the sheer magnitude of dickheads and bitches, on a percentage basis, that my school did. And likely still does. Stupid blue-collar artless sports-obsessed asshole home town.

29. Could be! I haven't gone to any reunions in the 20 years I've been out.
Couldn't give a fuck for about 460 of my fellow 480 classmates.

I think I might try for the 25 or the 30, just to go throw verbal shit at people and see what fat, porcine, third-tier fake businessmen or despondent, bitter overweight tackily-dressed mothers, or miserable, lifeless failures they turned into.

19. Theme?
Well since it was in 1964 and I don't have a clue anymore, I would have to give it a theme based on the evening, so the theme would be, "Leave Early, Go To The Drive-In and Neck."

21. I didn't go.
I went to one as a freshman, though, because the HS I went to was terribly small. No theme, though. I went to a talented and gifted magnet that year. Not too many students chose to go to the geek school, I guess.

25. Rise Up and Kill the Popular Kids
At least, that's what I wanted. :)

I actually didn't go to either of my proms. I didn't like most of my classmates and didn't like hanging around them during the day and saw no reason to pay $70 to dress uncomfortably to do so at night. I went jogging that night like I normally did.

The juniors always sold magazine subscriptions to raise money for the prom, and I actually sold more subscriptions than anyone else, and people were pissed that I wasn't going. I happily told them that I wasn't selling magazine subscriptions for them but for me - you got to choose a prize for each level you hit. I hit the highest level and made out pretty well. :)

I did go to A prom though. A guy in another town that I knew hired me to entertain (juggle) at his prom when we were seniors in our respective schools. That didn't go too well. I might be twisting balloons at a prom this weekend though, which has the theme of "A Night in Paris," so they'll want me in a beret, and I figure I'll do a stereotypical snotty French act to go with it.

"You want zee poodle? Of course, you want zee poodle. You Americains... you theenk Frahnce iz all poodles and Frahnch bread. Well, *ptoo* on you and your poodle! You get ze frog balloon instead!"
