Uh oh. The Amish Are Revolting Over Daylight Savings Time!
its the apocolypse i tell ya! :scared:

<snip>

MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio -- Not so fast! Some members of northeast Ohio's Amish community are among the remaining holdouts to daylight-saving time, refusing to move their clocks forward an hour when standard time ended.

The change to daylight-saving time left the Amish in northeast Ohio on two times. Those who spring ahead an hour -- along with most of the rest of the nation -- are said to be on "fast time." Those who don't change live on what's called "slow time."

One Amish bishop said, "We've always lived on this time, and there's no reason to change."

But a farmer who made the switch, and didn't want his name used, said, "There's good and bad with it" ... "But it does make life easier in some ways." He said there's "a lot less figuring" when you make the change.

1. You'd think they'd be all over that.
Another hour of daylight in the evening to get work done.

I fear change, so I shall keep my branches.

6. If there were no clocks a true farmer would work with the sun
and not worry about it. Because of dumb ole DST a lot of people get jipped out of their true birthdays. Can't get the kids to go to bed because it's still light outside. I even hated that when I was told to go to bed and the sun was still out.

2. You know Bush wasted time campaigning to PA Amish
He made 2 trips there even though only 10% of the Pennsylvanian Amish are actually registered to vote.

No wonder the dumbass lost PA

3. I live right down the road from Middlefield

...Believe me, they'll do all the "figurin'" they have to do to make sure they make it to The Town Tavern on time.

They'll also make the "winky van" for the trip to the Warren Wal-Mart before they close.

The Amish were always a source of puzzlement for me.

If life was a paved 4 lane hi-way, they'd be walking along in the ditch bopping their heads to battery powered boom boxes blasting modern rap tunes.
That's more fact than metaphor.

Glad I was born a "Yankee".

4. Heheheh....Middlefield.
That's not too far from where I live, and it's like the 4th largest Amish community in the world.
