Woman breastfeeds newborn tiger cubs

A Burmese woman is breastfeeding two tiger cubs at a zoo in Rangoon after they were removed from their aggressive mother.

Hla Htay, 40, who has three children, the youngest seven months old, offered her services after the Bengal tiger cubs' mother, Noah Noah, killed the third member of her litter.

The two others, a male and a female, were taken from her and now receive bottle feeds as well as Hla Htay's milk four times a day.

"I felt sorry for them so I decided to feed them before their teeth grow," she told the Myanmar Times, a privately-owned English-language paper in the capital.

And I still have very vivid memories of the first (and last time) I let a toothless baby bite my finger. She was toothless--how much could it hurt? I sure found out!!!

5. That image makes me shudder.

For me it is the image of those TEETH and those claws!!! Cats tend to knead with their paws when nursing. Your cat doing "mashed potatos" on you is a retreat back to the nursing behavior of a kitten. It stimulates letdown in the mother cat.

Now, imagine that on much larger scale... :scared:

10. survival of the fittest. Rare rare rare to see 3 cubs in a litter; most

likely it was defective and she took it out so as to not imperil the other cubs, or there could be a thing about not being able to have enough milk for all 3 cubs, so she took out the weakest.
