Should I go inline skating tomorrow ?
Bear in mind, I did it today for 3 miles and I'm out of shape. I'm not sore yet. What do ya think, o athletically inclined du'ers ? :-)

1. As long as the weather's good, why not?
I still intend to work up a long response to your earlier post.

4. Oh, I'm not worried about that.
That issue comes up from time to time on the Usenet group rec.sport.skating.inline, which earns this description from Google:
"Group description: Inline skating, aka Rollerblading."

rec.sport.skating in general.

rec.sport.skating.inline, aka that which cannot be named.

The point is that not all inline skates are Rollerblade brand inline skates, now with lanolin.

So what kind of skates do you have anyway? Are you skating on a designated trail or in the streets?

6. on a nature/exercise trail
the brand, I'm not sure. They're in my car now. They might have been Rollerblades, now that I think about it.

5. In a similar vein, SPAM is not the same as spam.

You get spam in your email inbox, but SPAM brand luncheon meat is a product of Hormel.

I think Rollerblade is now owned by the same outfit that owns Benetton. I've heard that, years ago, manufacture of the shells were outsourced to some other company. When that contract ended, the other company started making its own skates. That company was Roces. Well, that's the story. I don't know how much of it is true. Some old Roces shells do look just like old Rollerblade Lightning shells.

7. Heck yeah, Steve, if you wake up tomorrow morning, and don't
feel sore, go for it! I think I'd be less inclined to skate that many miles on the second day, but you can guage that as you skate along. It is certainly good exercise! I think it's really great that you're doing this...You WILL prolong your life in this very healthy way!

:yourock:

:hi:
