I saw the most WHIPPED man EVER today
I was grabbing some lunch in a mall. I sat down beside a family (dad and two kids.) The Dad was going to buy another burger meal combo to split with his son, as they were both still hungry.

The kids both immediately said, "You better not, Mom will be mad." This discussion went on for a bit. Eventually Mom arrived with her salad. Dad broached the idea with her. She totally vetoed it. Would not let him spend $6 bucks more for lunch. Later she vetoed visiting his Mom for the afternoon because "...he had chores to do."

They could afford the $6. The kids went to private school, and I think Dad is a professor at the university.

3. Good Lord...
They're growing kids...let them eat. It probably wasn't about the money...she was probably afraid they were going to get fat or something. Most people are obsessed with that.

I can see controlling what your kids eat, but not letting your husband buy a burger seems a bit much to me.

27. Some women control their husbands souls...
It's sick. My mom was the same way with my dad. If he told us we could do something, it pissed her off. If he spent money, it pissed her off. She's a control freak and it drives me batty. It's so bad sometimes I can't go to the bathroom without her asking me what I'm doing and where I'm going. It is so freaking annoying. I hate women like that.

And he realized that her request was reasonable and would make that something special happen sooner.

I hate the term "whipped."

Submitting to a request is common courtesy.

He didn't want it, but she kept shoveling it in his mouth.

I just question the request. I can't believe they weren't allowed to visit his mother (who would have been elderly) for an hour either. C'mon.

15. "Whipped" is a perfectly appropriate term
And when one partner dominates the other it is wrong. (Unless in a more adult context - then anything goes.)

34. I don't have an SO
I just think that a lot of times relationships don't work because people are unwilling to make small concessions that might bring their partner joy.

Chances are, this guy is going to get a burger somewhere else at some other time when the kid isn't there to tattle on him.

So this once, in order to spare a fight, he gave in.

That doesn't make him whipped. It makes him smart.

their fat and Psychopathic wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives.

I work next the the most whipped man alive.
little fat squirrelly looking whiner. He has to call his wife to get permission to do everything, even kick in a dollar to the company b-day pool. You can tell this bitch is always bitching at him too. Plus she's butt ugly. She looks just like Mikey on American Chopper.

At thmes like that I'm almost glad I can't get a girlfriend.

28. well, it could be
It could be that Dad is on a special diet, but sometimes doesn't have the discipline to stick with it?

Maybe his wife also said that he had chores to do, meaning that they all had them to do, but he had them to do as well?

Then again, she could just be a domineering woman like you said.

30. No no - my neighbor is the most whipped. Every weekend his wife
prepares a list of his jobs to do that weekend. Whenever he wants to buy anything he has to ask her first. And whenever their kid becomes a handful she passes it on to him. He cooks all the meals, does 90% of the child care and has no authority.

But the best part is: he deserves it. He's such a loser.

42. Good morning, yvr girl! Situations like this one make me sad...
The guy is being railroaded by his wife, and that is just WRONG! The kids have already imprinted on this, and will carry this toxic message into their own relationships. For those who say the guy likes it or deserves it: He has (probably) got such low self-esteem that he can't fight. Who knows where those feelings come from but he has them. It's just a shame all round...
