confession -- I picked up the first "Left Behind" movie ...
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 04:20 PM by Lisa
It was in the rock-bottom discount bin at the video place. After reading the articles by Bill Moyer and DU's own TygrBright, I was curious about the subject matter -- especially about attitudes regarding the environment, resource use, etc.

I'm expecting the worst -- can anybody offer advice/suggestions about how to get through watching the film -- and what I should be looking for?

p.s. here's the link to TygrBright's piece -- very interestig reading, if you haven't seen it yet.

1. I recommend the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" approach
Make popcorn, get ripped on magaritas, and feel free to make rude comments and humorous observations throughout the "film".

2. so basically, do what a friend and I did during the "Book of Mormon" film?
She used to date one of the actors, so we kind of went to town on the heckling ... say, maybe I should try to get her to come over to lend me some support during this one!

3. I saw one at a Christian movie theatre in the 1970s
and I think it was the first one - the one you got. I was a kid when I saw it so I bought the whole idea and it worried me (when will it happen? etc.)

I know you won't have that reaction to the movie (I certainly wouldn't if I saw it today.) The 1970s "groovy" clothes and expressions should be good for laughs. The acting is probably awful too.

6. Kirk Cameron's in it--it's based on the the 'popular' novels...
I think I know that one you're talking about...

4. It's no worse than any other B movie.
It was WAY more stomachable than the novel, for one thing.
