I've the original trio on Laserdisc (THX) and Special Edition.

May my LD player live on for a thousand years. :D

1. Personally

I would like the original originals, without the extra scenes, but with some cleaned up special effects - mainly the explosions of planets and the death star. The PFFF effect in the originals always annoyed me.

But I wasn't a fan of the "remastered" scene in Jabba's palace. I liked the muppets, they were dirtier and grittier and more in tune with the setting. Before they went all Ewok.

The re-release into theatres is still my favorite movie going experience. If they stayed in theaters all the time, I'd probably watch them once a month. They are really cool on the big screen.

2. Even better - May you make the effort to transfer the laserdisk

to DVD and have an archival DVD copy of the laserdisc just in case the player should fail at some future time :).

3. I shall. The THX discs I've got are clean, as are the SE's.

So I need not clean a thing, apart from any ambient video noise when the discs were encoded, but that's easy to do.

And I'll naturally keep the LDs; it'd be wrong (and dumb) to sell them.
