Mom Suspected Of Drunken Driving With Newborn In Car
1-Week-Old Girl Not Belted In Carrier

MADISON, Wis. -- A 24-year-old Beaver Dam mother was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving her car while drunk with her 1-week-old baby girl in the car.

The Dane County Sheriff's office said the woman was pulled over just after 1:30 a.m. in the town of Bristol. She was driving the wrong way on U.S. Highway 151 and almost struck a semitrailer and a pickup truck.

The infant was in a newborn carrier but wasn't belted in.

The sheriff's department said a breath test showed the woman had nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol intoxication.

She was cited for having open beer in the car, not having a seat belt on the baby, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and using unauthorized plates.

2. OMG!

So many things wrong here. I don't understand. Besides the list at the end of the post, she's also either not breast-feeding or drinking while breast-feeding. Choice after choice after choice against the health of her own baby--this mother is seriously deficient.

Poor little baby.
