Same Old Wine
Found this while looking for the lyrics to "Golden Ribbons". Any help on it?
---

SAME OLD WINE
Loggins And Messina

Will we give them the election
That keep filling our heads full of lies?
Can we trust new direction
When the promises are in disguise?
Well, someday the truth will catch us,
I just hope it don't catch us by surprise.

It's the same old wine in a brand new bottle,
It's the same old wine in a brand new bottle.

Preach this thing religion,
But we show no faith at all.
Follow suit on Sunday
But on Monday forget it all.
If the time should find us needing Him
Then, my friend, Lord have mercy on us all.

Teach our children virtue,
Then we send them off to war.
Then we ask ourselves the question,
What in the hell are we fightin' for?
If you suddenly find the reason
Don't be afraid to open the door.

1. ewwww, Loggins and Messina....
Maybe it's just me, but if there was ever a compelling argument for eugenics, it would likely cite the existence of Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina.

They did several incredibly good 'Nam-era antiwar songs, and did them well.

(BTW, yes, my post title was sarcastic, and meant in jest)

3. no need to make it a personal matter....
Sorry, I'm not a fan of their style. And no, I never really liked Cat Stevens much, either.

4. I said my comment was in jest
and you're completely welcome to your own musical taste. I've made that point a time or two here.

Unless you like Lawrence Welk. If so, then I'll have to kick your ass.
