It's been raining all day and hovering right on the edge of chilly, but not really cold enough to justify starting a fire. It's still borderline, but the cats will appreciate the stove. Where are you, and what's your weather like?

on edit-- I'm in northern California, about 300 miles north of San Francisco-- Humboldt County, baby!-- and we're having a Pacific storm. Current temp is 52 F.

3. A very good evening to you, Mike!
I'm in SoCal, next door to LAX...And tonight or tomorrow, we're due to get YOUR storm! Today was nice, temps in the upper 60's with some hazy sunshine...Looks like we're about to BREAK the old record of rainfall amts. here in LA, if this storm comes through as advertised. Pooh. I'm SICK of all this rain...I really hope that this storm is the absolute last one for this season. The weeds are taking over my garden as we speak...

I see from your profile that you teach at Humboldt State. Which field? And I perceive that you also have a Ph.D. Good for you! Those don't exactly grow on trees...How about satisfying my curiosity?

:toast:

:hi:

4. Hi Peggy....
Yep, I'm at HSU. I'm an entomologist and ecologist, so I teach courses in, well, entomology and ecology. :) I'm in the biology dept.

I think this winter we've had generally better weather than SoCal has-- I'm hoping this is our last storm of the season. I hope you enjoyed the nice day while you could!
