Most embarrassing thing that happened to you/you did
I am more inclined to understand humanity now, so don't embarrass easily. When I was a kid, I was more prone to embarrassment.

I think I was in 8th grade, and I yacked in the middle of American History class. It came on very suddenly.

I was pretty embarrassed at that.

Et tu, DU?

3. Maybe the time I rang the captains departure
with 8 bells instead of 4 - and the subsequent chewing out I revived from the XO got broadcast all over the ship on the 1MC. I forgot to switch off the microphone.
There are some things you just don't live down.

20. yup
but I knew I was wrong so the buck stopped there.

I felt bad for him later. Weeks later, When I had messenger of the watch underway I was told to throw the garbage chear of the fantail on the 12 to 4 am watch. I did not know that what I thought was trash were actually the controls to the VDS, ( variable depth sounding sonar ). Its a good thing the cables did not part completely when I tossed the box like plastic bag covered forms over the side - instead of plunging into the Gulf of Mexico they banged against the hull of the ship and dangled as I first tried to pull the cable free from what ever they were caught up on

I was horrified to discover they were attached to something and may not be trash after all !

He had to spend a big part of his liberty reparing the connections. His comment was " Damn, some one has it in for me. Somebody tried to throw the controlls for the VDS over the side last night" I did NOT tell him it was me.

6. Well, I was about eleven years old when
I walked in on my parents doin' the wild thing. It was broad daylight, in the middle of the afternoon, and we were doing some cleaning. That's why I didn't think anything of it at the time, their door was even slightly open. God in heaven, talk about embarrassing! My face still turns red thinking of it even today, and I'm forty years old.

I should have known better, though. They were ALWAYS going at it when I was growing up, sometimes several times a night, and they were, shall we say, ahem, quite vocal about it. They were pretty angry when I walked in on them, but looking back, they should have been a little more careful, lol.

12. That's probably true, and that
would explain their unwarranted anger. I was an only child, too, so I always felt like I was in their way, even though they never made me feel that way.

9. on my first day of work in the catalog production department at LLBean-
I accidentally walked into the men's room without really paying attention. Click, click, click, click into a stall in my "executive" pumps. Sitting down, I glanced over at the shoes in the stall next to me--they were humongous wingtips! I realized what I had done and then realized, with my face getting extremely red and hot, that I had no idea how to get out of there then without being seen! I waited for the man to leave, then slipped out. I never wore my pumps again but watched the men's shoes to see who it had been. I think it was my boss's boss. I coulda died!

In another LLBean-restroom-related incident, one of the other women accidentally tucked the end of the toilet paper into the waistband of her skirt. She came all the way out of the restroom and halfway down the aisle back to her desk before realizing she was unrolling the toilet paper behind her! She ran back in a panic, scooping it up! :D

13. Oh, I hate it when things like that happen!
I've gone out of bathrooms with toilet paper sticking to the bottom of my shoes, ARRRGGHHH!!!! Another thing I hated was when I'd tuck my skirt in after going to the bathroom, only to find later, in front of people, that part of the skirt was stuck inside my pantyhose. Talk about red-faced!
