Abraham,Martin and John (Dion)
Has anybody here seen my old friend Abraham?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and he's gone.

Has anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and he's gone.

Has anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and he's gone.

Didn't you love the things they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good in you and me?
And we'll be free
Someday soon
It's gonna be one day

Has anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walking up o'er the hill
With Abraham, Martin and John.

What a beautiful old song I heard on the way home tonight.

2. I have always loved that song.
The ethereal earnestness of this memorial song both in lyric and melody is so very touching.

4. Beautiful song...Tori Amos did a great version of it too
She did it live on her last tour, and it sounds like she's on the verge of tears throughout the whole song. As if that song didn't make me want to cry when I hear it anyway! Love it though...it's one of my favorites.

5. For many years after it was released in 1968
I couldn't hear this song without crying. After 35 years or so, it merely makes me tear-up and get a tight throat now. What a waste...
