Last night I had the strangest dream....
I sailed away to find ya
In a little row boat to China...

** No really, I did have one of those dreams that make you go,"Wha-?" when you wake up, and then it takes you 3 or 4 hours to shake off the bad ju-ju feeling that it gave you. I think I spent too much time on DU last night. It actually incorporated the elements of 6 or 7 threads. All I have to say is dream Cary Grant's got nothing on AMC's Cary Grant.

:hi:

1. I thought for sure I was going to see the lyrics for 'Feelin Alright' here
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 09:27 AM by Richardo
Seems I’ve got to have a change of scene
’cause every night I have the strangest dream
Imprisoned by the way things used to be
Left here on my own or so it seems
I’ve got to get out before I start to scream
’cause someone’s locked the door and took the key

You feeling alright?
I’m not feeling too good myself

Well boy, you sure took me for one big ride
And even now I sit and wonder why
An’ then I think of you and I start to cry
But I just can’t waste my time and must keep dry

Gotta stop believing in all your lies
’cause there’s too much to do before I die
Don’t get too lost in all I say
Though at the time I really felt that way
But that was then and now it’s today

Oh - can’t get out feeling, so I’m here to stay
Til someone comes along to take my place
With a different name, just a different face

You feeling alright?
I’m not feeling too good myself

3. I thought I'd see the lyrics to a '50s folk classic...
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war

I dreamed I saw a mighty room
Filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They'd never fight again

And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful pray'rs were prayed

And the people in the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round
While swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground

Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd never dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.

By Ed McCurdy, and Arlo Guthrie recorded it in the late '60s/early '70s

4. I thought you dreamed you met a Galilean. A most amazing man.
He those those eyes you very rarely find, the haunting, hunted kind.

(Sorry, I don't go to church on Easter, but I do make a point of listening to the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack).

5. Or this lovely Woodstock classic.
I had a dream last night
What a lovely dream it was
I dreamed we all were alright
Happy in a land of oz
Why did everybody laugh when I told them my dream?
I guess they all were so far from that kind of same
Feeling in me

I heard a song last night
What a lovely song it was
I thought I'd hum it all night
Unforgettable because..

All of the players were playing together
And all of the hippies were as light as a feather
See, your love remember is a freeing of soul
But as I recall, the rest will just follow

I had a dream last night
What a lovely dream it was
I dreamed we all were alright
Happy in a land of oz
What a lovely dream it was
What a lovely dream it was

What a lovely dream it was

9. My dream last night...
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 09:39 AM by SarahBelle
In the dream, I bought a pair of Doc Martens (haven't had any since the early 90's) and I was wearing them with a a pair of short cargo shorts and a black tank top looking all like the pseudo punk sexpot I used to like to dress in my late teens. However, I was in a pissy mood from some annoying dude kept hitting on me while simultaneously making fun of me for drinking a protein shake.

How would a translate this? I think it probably has to do with all this body image stuff and how I want to present myself these days. That whole inner whatever of who I am vs. all that external sh*t. People always tell me I look young and I very much lead a healthy lifestyle and like to look a certain way, but it has also put me in a position of being treated less-seriously by people in certain settings. My brain's just kind of coming to terms with all that stuff I guess again in defining 'who I am" after all the changes I have gone through within the last few years.

10. Last night, I dreamt I shot Eminem-
Too vivid for my comfort. My "dream friends" and I were standing 8 yards away from the outdoor stage on which he was performing. He wore white tennis shoes, blue jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt. Well, he drew the string on the hood so tightly, only his nose was visible (like Kenny in South Park). He turned his head toward me, leapt off the stage and came at me!

Suddenly, there was a gun in my hand. I raised it and shot. Boom, right in the chest. He fell right there. I couldn't believe I had so swiftly defended myself against an attacker.

The music stopped. One of my friends said, "You shot Eminem." I said ,"He was going to kill me!"
She said, "You. Shot. Eminem." She shook her head while people stared silently.

Suddenly, I was in my bed with the remote aimed at the TV. All the news footage had a highschool picture of me next to a picture of Eminem. There was lots of footage on Eminem's brilliant career, his friends and family, the books he wrote, his interviews, movies and videos, interviews with his fans. Then, there was footage of me, getting stuck in traffic. Crumpling up a resume I'd written and throwing it in the trash. Lighting the wrong end of a cigarette. Tripping over my cat on the way to the bathroom.

WEIRD.

:wow:

17. OMG! I have been there, done that!
You see that man walking on eggshells? It is because his wife is mad at him. He does NOT know why she is mad at him, he cannot figure out what he did wrong. And she won't tell him. No, she has clammed up! That is because the poor sap did NOTHING wrong! She simply DREAMED that he had, and so began a long, slow smoldering suspicion that he had indeed done her wrong. Soon the low ember of her anger was ignited, a situation that might not burn itself out for a WEEK ! And heaven forbid if that week should fall at an "inopportune time of month"...why, it could be TWO or more weeks in that case before the man emerges from under that cloud, nursing a few bruises he somehow gathered while asleep!

LOL.

19. One time it was really bad for MrG because it was so real. It incorporated
actual bits of our real life together. So help me I try, but I cannot help but want to rip his lips off when I have these dreams. ;)

...at least that is preferable to her dreams about snakes. After she has a snake dream, ALL HELL CAN BREAK LOOSE at any time. Heh.

16. That reminded me of a song I haven't heard in years..lol
Chick-A-Boom
Daddy Dewdrop

Last night I had a crazy dream
About a chick in a black bikini
Oh, she looked so good
She couldn't be real
She must be a magic genie
But then she disappeared around the corner
All I saw were three doors
And the top of her bikini
I made it through the first door
There was a party going on
I asked about the chick
But what they said was freaky

Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
Don't you jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom-boom-boom

I found the bottom half
Behind the second door
Which took me to Africa I presume
This really far out cat
Was screaming half crazy
"Bomp boom a loo bom a long bam boo"
I said, hey man
Cut that jive
And tell me where the chick went
But he looked at me
As pleased as could be
And said these words
But I wonder what he meant

Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't you jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom-boom-boom

Aaaah, don't ya jes' love it
Mmm-hum, don't ya jes' love it
Don't ya love it, don't ya love it
Oh yeah, don't ya love it
Don't ya jes' love it now

I opened the third door and there she was
And she whispered so sexy, hello-ooh
I tried to do the same
And impress her with my style
But why I said this
I'll never know

Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't you jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom
(Mmmmm-aaaah)
Don't ya jes' love it
Chick-a-boom-chick-a-boom-boom-boom
