Yahoo doesn't?

Yahoo concentrated on building a brand with lots of service. Google concentrated on building a working search engine. In the early years, mid 90s, Yahoo rocked, then, for some time Yahoo was simply a time waster as they focused on a business model that wasn't about the actual search engine.

Google works, I don't even mess with Yahoo anymore so maybe it has improved but they lost me.

6. Google is a search engine - Yahoo is a directory
People have to submit thier sites to get on Yahoo, google is an actual search engine that has technology to match keywords. Yahoo might have changed that recently - but if they did, they still suck

7. Google arranges its listing according to the number of hits
the more hits the higher a site ranks. In database development it's much easier to track the number of hits than the context of the article, basically they are spitting back to you what other people found interesting.
