I want to thank all of you who posted in my last post about my husband's surgery.
There were so many complications last Friday, so they held off the surgery until Monday. This particular hospital (JFK in Atlantis, FL) does not do surgeries over the weekend. On Monday they had him in the operating room, they shaved his belly, and then scrapped the surgery once more. On Tuesday morning they decided to do one more endoscopy (this is where they put a tube down your throat with a camera on the end). This test proved to be very painful to my husband. He had more pain after that than when he came into the ER.
Yesterday afternoon he was finally able to have his Gall Bladder removed. The surgery took 2 1/2 hours, but he came out with flying colors. He looks a lot better and should be home real soon.
Let this be a message to all of you - my husband was a heavy drinker for many years. He will not be able to drink again, but I think this is for the best.
And thank God for insurance. If we did not have insurance, I doubt he would have gotten the care that he did. I also have a seperate policy that suppliments our policy. We come out of this without paying anything and my husband is going to be safe and sound.
Thanks again for all of your prayers and kind words.
